Sagewinds Farm High Desert Camp
The property is beautiful, accommodations great, but most importantly Ellen was an absolute joy. She made sure that I had everything that I needed, knew my way around the property, and had great recommendations for Jacumba nearby. Can't recommend enough!

Fantastic stay, great view, awesome
What a fantastic stay! This place is very special and I would highly recommend it - especially the high camp. Ellen gave us the tour of both campsites, her amazing work with tie-dye, the miniature horses, and the sage. She was very inviting And I will surely be staying here again.

Can’t wait to go back!!!
I spent two nights solo car camping here. It was amazing! I was far enough away from everything that it was incredibly private, yet close enough that I could easily knock on Ellen’s door if I needed anything. The scenery was beautiful, especially the stars! Ellen was a wonderful host and after showing me around made sure I was free to find her if I needed anything. Other than a couple brief interactions I was completely alone which is exactly what I was looking for! I’ll definitely be returning!! If you are able to, make sure you climb Ellen’s mountain. It’s not the easiest hike and it does require some scrambling over boulders but 1000 % worth it! The views and natural scenery were unbelievable from the vantage point!

Beautiful sacred land
My boyfriend and I came out to camp and celebrate our 2 year anniversary. We had an amazing time on this beautiful property. Fell in love with the dogs and mini horses. Ellen is a breath of fresh air, it was a joy to visit with her! We will be back to celebrate my 40th with friends. I also plan to bring my kids at some point. It’s a great property for all walks of life!

Sagewinds Farm High Desert Camp
Camping here was so healing and relaxing. We stayed in September, but were told in the Spring the flowers near the barn will take turns blooming. You can purchase organic white sage products or tie dye clothes from Ellen. The sage smells amazing! There are 2 campsites. The one up the hill will allow you to watch the sunset and in my opinion has better views. It’s also closer to the hiking trails and the must visit cave with a hammock inside. Something about that cave was so magical and it kept us cool on a hot day. We also found a rock to lay on at night to watch the stars. One downside is you can still see and hear the traffic all night long. There also isn’t much flat ground to camp on so space is limited. The other site is behind the barn. There is much more room to camp here as the space is more open. The campers here said they heard a lot of coyotes at night, but no traffic noise. Both sites have flushable toilets within walking distance. You can park your car next to your campsite. Ellen has 4 dogs and 2 mini horses. A couple dogs and coyotes came to visit us during the night. Luckily we had our dogs sleeping safely in the car. Dogs are allowed off leash as long as they come on command. We kept our dogs on leash on the trails in case of rattlesnakes (thankfully we didn’t see any). The hike up the mountain will require you to climb up a rope and it can be easy to miss the trail markers, but the view at the top is beautiful.
