If you’re looking for a quiet getaway with a few close friends or your family, this option is for you. Tucked in along the South Fork of the American River, this beautiful campsite features picnic benches, a propane fire pit with propane included (fire pits help prevent wildfires), and a prep table for fixing up those tasty fireside meals. Guests also have access to shared bathroom facilities (and yes, there are showers!), volleyball, ping pong, communal benches, a sink and dishwashing station, and a common swimming area along the river. Most sites are within a very short walking distance to the banks of the South Fork of the American River, this place is ideal for anyone interested in experiencing the beauty of the foothills and the rush of the river. We offer both tent and RV sites. Each RV site includes its own picnic table, water and 30Amp power hookups. Guests will also have access to our volleyball court, ping pong, communal benches, and a common area with a sink and dishwashing station. Additionally, you can access the swim area and go for a dip to cool off on a hot day. If you're looking to steal some time away to reconnect and camp, this is the place for you. People of all ages can camp out, swim, and play. We offer toilets, showers, trash disposal, potable water and more depending on the site you chose. Leashed pets 45 pounds or less are allowed as well. Enjoy biking, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, paddling, climbing, swimming, whitewater rafting, and wildlife watching all nearby, or on site.

Canopy Tent Site
The directions were clear, so remember to follow the signs for Cove Campground. However, the gentleman we encountered at the rafts wasn’t very friendly. On the bright side, the view was beautiful, and the campsite was nicely secluded from others. You park in a lot and then bring your items to the campsite; there are wagons available to help transport your gear. The water was nearby and running fast, so we dipped our toes in to enjoy it.

My first time in Lotus, such an incredibly beautiful site. Kris made sure I had clear directions, a warm welcoming and everything I needed. I’d come back in a heartbeat. Thanks Kris!

Golden Getaway
My Dad and I have turned this stunning location into our annual camping getaway for the past two years. While we don’t typically camp at the same grounds twice in a row, this place holds a special charm. We have absolutely fallen in love with this camp and the surrounding area. Nestled by the American River and close to Coloma, the site of California’s first gold discovery, it offers a unique blend of history and natural beauty. The private showers are a perfect touch after a day of adventure, and especially great before heading home. Kris and Paul are exceptional hosts who maintain the grounds beautifully. Thank you for sharing this wonderful property with us. Cheers! See you next year! : )

We Are Definitely Returning Here!
We really enjoyed camping here! Loved the access to the river, loved how the camp wasn't too crowded, loved the clean flushing toilets, and having a site with 30amp shore power and water was icing on the cake! We'd love to return!

Camping Under the Stars
It was pleasant to be greeted by the host when we arrived. The spot was very clean and ready for us to get set up in. The showers and bathrooms were wonderful and well kept for a camping spot. The walk to the river is peaceful and the views are amazing.
