Learn more about this land: TAKE NOTE: I have turned off the pump house for the winter. If you plan on camping there, you will need to bring your own water and be prepared for freezing temperatures. The water will be turned back on next spring around March. Thank you! The recreation opportunities in the Alturas CA area are endless, fishing, hiking biking, hunting, boating and OHV. The camping site has nearly 3 acres with a view of the town of Alturas and is a great place to kick back and enjoy the atmosphere of fresh air and juniper trees. There are flat usable campsites around the property and one portion of the property is fenced for horses (bring your own water trough). The property is approximately 3 minutes from downtown Alturas with restaurants and stores. The sleepy town is a perfect place to hang out and relax at the big park in town behind the VFW Hall on Main Street, have refreshments at the two bars in town or try your luck at the Desert Rose Casino. The Wildlife Refuge has a self driving tour where you can see all kinds of birds and wildlife. Take a drive outside town to the "Ranches" to see deer, antelope, eagles and various waterfowl! Alturas is a high desert area with wonderful views of the Warner Mountains and has an enchanting feel to it. Temperatures in the summer rarely get over 100 degrees, mostly low 90's, and in the fall the cool nights make for great sleeping. Pop over Cedar Pass to Cedarville which is about 20 minutes away to check out the newly designated "Dark Sky" area. Come up and hang out in this very cool and special place, you will not want to leave!!  The town of Alturas is also in the coveted X hunting zones, X3a, X3b and X2, for those of you who like to hunt. Two sites have full hook ups and the small trailer site on the above pad (see trailer picture) has electric only.  During the winter, the pump house is turned off and drained due to freezing temperatures and the risk of blowing a pipe, so campers must bring their own water during November through March.  Please ask if there are changes in these dates for the water hook ups.The recreation opportunities in the Alturas CA area are endless, fishing, hiking biking, hunting, boating and OHV. Vehicle details
Travel trailers, Fifth wheels, Toy haulers, Pop-up campers, Class A RVs, Class B RVs, Class C RVs, Campervans, and Cars allowed
I don't recommend campers longer than 35 feet, unless you have mad driving skills and can make the turn into the entrance as the main road is narrow. There are some trees lining the driveway but have been cut back but you still have to watch some corners and swing wide.
Vehicles under 34 feet allowed
You can just stay on the main driveway which is like a pull through then turn around at the bottom of the property if you have a bigger camper. If you have a small trailer you can use the top camp spot which has power, water is also available by the pump house (except in the winter, pump house is drained and turned off due to freezing), bring a long hose and just pull around the horseshoe driveway. Larger campers can stay down on the lower pad, that is a back in or a pull up and stay on the drive way. Power, water and dump are available there. Not recommended for trailers over 35 feet.

Surface type: Loose Gravel
To pull in to the bottom camp site, take the driveway to the right by the pump house and go around the bottom circle driveway and then back into the spot where the hook ups are. I just had some dirt work done there and gravel brought in so there may be some leveling involved.

Electrical hookup available
50 amps. There is an electrical outlet at the top camping pad near the pump house and water is available, bring a long hose (no water in the winter). The small top camp spot is good for a smaller camper or trailer. 30/50 and 110 amp is available at the big camp spot. Full hook ups are available at the main, big camp spot, 50, 30 and 110 power.
Water hookup available
On-site hookup. Well water is available
Sewage hookup available
On-site hookup. There is a full hook up site at the big camp spot at the bottom of the property.

Just mind the 10 o'clock rule.

There is satellite available if you bring your own and there is AT&T cell service there. I'm not sure about Verizon.

Nice views. Full electrical hook ups and water. Great to be there by ourselves but no privacy between sites. Would be a fun spot for a group.

Perfect eclipse viewing.
21 ft campervan
We camped at Stacie's property to view the eclipse and it was no less than perfect! There was one other RV there but they were gone most of the time and very friendly when there. Access to the sites is easy and directions were perfect. Stacie was super communicative with any questions I had and provided lots of suggestions for local activities. The property was private no houses very close. Lots of seating set up on the property. The roosters were a hoot and the goats next door, adorable. Hookups worked, but make sure to have a water regulator because the pressure is amazing!

I stayed at Camp Freedom in my Class A motorhome for about a week. The view was amazing, great privacy, quiet and peaceful. Stacy was very accommodating and easy to deal with, and she really went the extra mile to make my stay a good one.
