Site 5 - River beach camping tent ⛺
20 hours driving to find paradise
This was the perfect spot for us. It was quiet and peaceful. We pitched our tent along the riverbank and listened to the water run as we fell asleep and we had a beautiful view of the mountains when we unzipped our tent in the morning. Our dogs loved the freedom and the water was perfect for them and us to wade in. We really appreciated/enjoyed Darren stopping by to check in on us and make sure that we were ok during our stay. We hope to be back in the future!

Camping in paradise
I cant even rave this site enough <3!!!
The caretakers were so super friendly and helpful
The location....just amazing and peaceful. Complete peace and serenity. We discovered the cause of the abundance of wasps, as mentioned in previous views. Huge nest on underside of bank. We did not disturb as its not our property.
100 % going back
We loved puttering around on our kayaks!!

An excellent, private site. Close enough to Lumby for supplies, but far enough away from noise and others to truly get away from it all. All I'd say is if you're planning on booking a large group (like we did), the RV site is about a three minute drive from all the other sites. So keep that transportation in mind for who goes where.

Super private, LOTS of bugs
Nice property, but the wasps/bees/mosquitos are insane and prohibitive to being outside at almost any time of day.
Make sure you message the host well ahead of time to get directions as Google maps doesn’t flag the address correctly and the nearest cell reception is 10 mins drive back towards Lumby.
There was no portable toilet as advertised. We felt very much like we had the place to ourselves, it was lovely and quiet and serene, but sadly we didn’t make it to the beach as we have injuries that means that we cannot walk a long way and although I asked the host via the Hipcamp chat, we were not told which path/direction we should follow to get the the river so didn’t want to walk through the bugs in the wrong direction. There was a bit of dog poo around in the long grass. There is a nice big picnic table for use which is sturdy and clean.
If you only need power, don’t mind bugs and are looking for a private and quiet spot, this place would be great for you. We literally saw one person come by on a quad in 5 days. Super private.

A Long and Winding Road
10 stars for privacy and a beautiful piece of property. A map of the property would have been helpful as we weren't sure where or how to access the gravel beach in the pictures. The closest part of the river to the barn is a cut-bank and we weren't sure where this property ended. Didn't much matter though since the mosquitos were so bad we literally ran back to the rv after a few minutes. These mosquitos apparently drink deet for breakfast. We were warned though so no fault there.
We weren't aware there was zero cell coverage here so an attempt to contact our host when Google and Apple maps were showing different locations came to naught. Be warned if coming from the Northeast, Google Maps will route you through some loooong backroads, some of which weren't even paved. Beautiful valley but not what was needed after 6 hours on the road.
