What a gorgeous place! The perfect place for a calm refuge to reset and re-enter life restored.
Lovely kind hosts, beautiful views and walks straight from the roundhouse enjoyed by us and our cat Blue. Absolutely magical.

Our second stay and even more perfect, the camper van pitch is secluded and quiet, the decking and fire pit beautiful touches for relaxing outside of the van. We were very pleasantly surprised at just how warm the showers were despite the wind and cold and the roundhouse is lovely. To top it all it’s easy to get to the coast path and marvel at the dramatic coastline. 💕

7 nights at Henbant Permaculture Farm + Camp
I’ve been putting off leaving this review … mainly because I don’t want anyone else to find out about this fabulous place… but then that would go against the whole ethos of Henbant. Within 10 minutes of arriving our 4 year old was dancing around saying “mummy, mummy this place is all about being freeee” and with no cars on the site we felt comfortable letting her explore and make new friends. We loved the choice of pitches , many of them hidden in the gorse, very private and with beautiful views. The honesty shop was amazingly well stocked - highly recommend the henbant steaks for a real treat. Matt , Jenny and their kids were so welcoming and our daughter loved playing in the garden and meeting the chickens and guinea pigs. When our ancient tent finally gave up on our 3rd night Matt was so helpful about helping us dispose of it and the cherry on the cake was the fabulous sauna which we mainly seemed to have to ourselves each day ! The facilities are not luxury all singing all dancing shower blocks but we never once had to queue and they were always spotlessly clean and the lack of light pollution meant the stars were incredible… we loved it so much we stayed an extra night despite torrential rain , and we’ve already booked to return in October half term. Magical .

We recently camped at this enchanting site with our two children, aged 8, 9, and our dog. From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a fairy tale, complete with a beautifully crafted communal campfire hobbit house. Despite stormy weather, the cozy atmosphere of the hobbit house provided the perfect retreat for family bonding.
The camping pitches were well-groomed, flat, and sheltered, ensuring a comfortable experience. The facilities were impressively clean, far exceeding our expectations for compostable toilets, and the warm showers offered a refreshing luxury after a day of outdoor fun.
A highlight was the hobbit hut, featuring warm water for dishwashing, making it feel like a home away from home. The food prep space and cozy seating area encouraged board games and reading, keeping our kids entertained for hours.
With stunning dark skies at night, the site is perfect for stargazing—bringing a telescope is recommended. The welcoming owners added to the friendly atmosphere that made our experience special. Conveniently located for day trips to Aberystwyth or Borth, there is a shop around 1 mile away, though we suggest bringing marshmallows and wood for the campfire. The owner sells firewood, ensuring you can enjoy magical evenings around the fire.
The children loved playing on the swing and running in haystacks, while our dog received a warm welcome, making it a truly family-friendly location. Overall, this campsite was the highlight of our summer.

My kids and I have camped every summer for the past 10 years, but this was our 1st stay at Henbant and it is genuinely the best campsite we have ever stayed on.
The site is set in between the Welsh mountains with a view over the sea, there are a variety of pitches , we chose one which allowed some privacy but where we didn’t feel isolated.
When we first arrived we weren’t sure where to set up but we followed the advice of the owners who suggested we had a look around the site first, this was great advice. We quickly found our bearings which resulted in us finding our perfect spot for the next 10 days .
Everything is in easy reach from the tents such as the showers , the toilets , the dish washing area ect .
There is an honesty shop on site, this is great and you can buy some really useful things as well as treats . I highly recommend the homemade bread , it’s soo tasty and we were lucky enough to get a warm loaf fresh from the oven .
The whole atmosphere of the place is chilled and calm, the staff and the other campers we’re all friendly and helpful.
We have previously stayed at other campsites which tried to sell a certain vibe but when we got there it was more PR and marketing than true but at Henbant everyone seems genuine and the culture is authentic and real.
Henbant is located in a great spot for accessing Eryri , Caernarfon, Anglesey etc and we visited lots of places . If you have kids I recommend checking out Plas Menai if they like trying outdoor activities.

Great views of Eryri (Snowdonia) and across to Holyhead mountain. Great that you can have fires, although I didn't on my one night stay. The bonus of being able to book the sauna was fab! I was on one of the few campervan pitches and it was very spacious.

Where to go
North Pembrokeshire Coast
Heading southeast from Cardigan through North Pembrokeshire, Cardigan Bay culminates at storm-tossed Strumble Head, having wound through Newport and Fishguard. Along the way are striking sights like Dinas Head (a headland cut off from the mainland by a stream), vast sandy beaches like Newport Sands, and the ruined Abbey of St Dogmaels. Newport has several facility-rich campsites—otherwise, sleep out near Strumble Head in a yurt rental.
Ceredigion Coast
Ceredigion boasts the lion’s share of Cardigan Bay—a stretch running from Cardigan to Aberaeron and Aberystwyth up to the Dyfi Estuary. The area is plastered in campsites, with the New Quay area and the coast north of Aberystwyth offering especially good choices. Great hiking can be found along the Wales Coast Path, which takes campers via comely harbours like New Quay with its bottlenose dolphin-watching trips, an abundance of idyllic sandy coves, and rolling dunes around the Dyfi Estuary.
Southern Snowdonia Coast & Llyn Peninsula
Cardigan Bay’s northern portion is flanked by Snowdonia National Park, where the sandy, castle-studded seaboard jostles for position with the jagged mountain peaks and emerald-green valleys behind. The shores then swerve west for 30 miles out onto the lower-lying Llyn Peninsula AONB. Many of North Wales’ best beaches hem this coast, and among many excellent pitching places, the dune-rimmed coast around Morfa Harlech and Morfa Dyffryn stands out.
Cambrian Mountains
Bare yellow-green hills scored by narrow wooded valleys loom inland above Cardigan Bay. Although never surpassing 2,475 feet, these are mighty wild places that cross by Wales’ toughest long-distance trail, the Cambrian Way. This, Britain’s remotest land south of the Scottish Highlands, is most easily accessed from Aberystwyth to the northwest. There are scarcely any campsites in the middle, so places like Aberystwyth, Tregaron, and Lampeter on the western periphery are your best options for camping bases.
