The Loft Glamping & Camping

12 units · Motorhomes, Tents5 acres · Kinloss, Scotland
The Loft Glamping & Camping is situated at East Grange Farm, Kinloss, Moray. It 's a working farm that has evolved over the years to include Wigwam Glamping and Camping for campervans, motorhomes and tents. A number of the old farm buildings are also perfectly appointed as venue spaces for Weddings, Events and Workshops. The "wilderness" campsite offers pitches suitable for tents and small campervans whilst the Stackyard area is suitable for motorhomes and mega tents. All motorhome pitches have electrical hook-up and we have a good number of electric tent pitches. Unfortunately we do not take bookings for caravans. Onsite, we also have Original Wigwam cabins which are wooden camping cabins (Pods) that offer all year round protection against the elements. With heating, electricity, fridge, kettle and toasters. For those wanting a bit more luxury there are also ensuite Wigwam Cabins onsite with wood fired hot tubs. We welcome families, groups, well behaved dogs and do allow campfires outside the wigwams and at pitches and can provide fire hubs on the campsite (this must be pre-arranged). The Loft Glamping & Camping looks forward to welcoming you throughout the year!

Overview

Birdwatching, wildflower-spotting, seal- and otter-watching, and walks along the coast and through woodland are just some of the activities on offer at Loch Fleet National Nature Reserve. The sea loch for which the reserve is named lies just north of Dornoch and is surrounded by dunes, saltmarsh and pine wood and a haven for fauna and flora. There are several trails to follow and information about each is available in the parking lots on both the south and north shores. While there are no campsites within the nature reserve, Grannie's Heilan' Hame Holiday Park is just a five-minute drive away and famed for its friendly welcome and excellent facilities.

When to go

Visiting Loch Fleet National Nature Reserve is a special experience at any time of year. Birdwatching is great all year-round, while spring and summer are best for wildflower viewing. Seasonal highlights include ospreys soaring over the estuary and sand dunes blooming with colorful wildflowers in the spring; butterflies in the dunes and seal pups in the estuary in summer; greylag geese and wigeon in fall, and more winter wildfowl and otters in the winter.

Know before you go

  • The closest bus stop is in the village of Golspie, two miles (three kilometers) from the reserve. Here you’ll also find the closest train station (Golspie is on the Inverness to Wick line). There is also a cycle path from the village to Balblair woods.
  • The closest public restrooms are in Fountain Road car park in Golspie. They are fully accessible.
  • Visitors should familiarize themselves with, and take care to follow, the Scottish Outdoor Access Code and avoid disturbing wildlife.
