Ecolodge La Maison Joulin

Overlooking the Loire Valley, in Chênehutte, at the gates of Saumur, our 17th century farmhouse renovated with ecological materials, and a Safari tent coexist in a two hectare park. In Maison Joulin, we cultivate simplicity, authenticity, and the art of hospitality in the spirit of a large family house.

We created this place with respect for the values that inhabit us: authenticity, simplicity and respect for the environment. The Safari tent in its green setting, at the bottom of the one-hectare park, has a large balcony open to nature with an outdoor lounge area. It is open from May to September.

Camping Le Thouet

Our campsite welcomes you and your family or friends for a relaxing and a peaceful holiday, but yet with plenty of activities and things to do.

We are open all year and are set in a peaceful and verdant greenery, in the middle of a vineyard on the border of the River Thouet. We offer large camping plots (minimum 100m²), rent of mobile homes, a bar and restaurant.

We are set in the middle of the Loire Valley, near to many big town to visit such as Saumur, Angers, Cholet and Poitiers.

You can enjoy either a relaxing an quiet stay  by the pool with a glass of the local wine on the terrace of the bar by the pool, eating a home made dinner freshly cooked by Nadia, or you can be busy visiting all the surrounding: Chateaux's, Zoo, Puy Du Fou, Futuroscope, wine tasting.

You are staying on an alpaca farm! The tent is situated in the field next to the alpacas, and it's possible for you to make additional bookings with us to book an amazing experience with the alpacas; up close and personal!

On and around the farm

- You're situated within an alpaca farm!  You can book experiences with us; walking alpacas, the morning feed or a wellbeing session.

- We give you a bag of alpaca treats to feed over the fence at your leisure, and give you guidance of how to do this on arrival

- Opposite a beautiful chateau with a daytime bar, open some evening weekends throughout the summer

- 1km walk from 13th century Chapelle de 'l’hermitage

- Two goat farms in the village with local meats and cheese

Will and Sophie proudly opened the glamping site in August 2021 and has since welcomed every group; couples, families, honeymooners, wedding parties, batchelorettes, birthday celebrations, friends, sisters and those needed a 1 night stay for Puy du Fou and other local attractions.

You have 2 fields dedicated just for your private group, next to the alpaca fields. Sleeps up to 6 people with 2 double beds and 2 single
