Camping Moulin de La Geneste is a small-scale nature campsite with 25 camping spots for tents, caravans or campers. These spots are exceptionally spacious, shady, green and between 70 and 120 m2 with lots of privacy. The campsite exudes tranquility, is surrounded by nature, has a large fishing lake, an animal meadow and lots of greenery. Rental of 2 wooden chalets, a mobile home, a hobbit house and a romantic gypsy caravan. In high season 2 bell tents on a platform with a view of the river are rented. The campsite is a quiet, "no fuss" campsite full of greenery and nature. Here everyone can be themselves and do what they want. Fishing enthusiasts pack their things and go to the large fishing lake. Or you can take a lovely walk on the grounds; a private forest where you are sung to by many different types of birds and where various benches invite you to enjoy the sun or the shade, the flowers, the birds, a real waterfall or the river that flows through the campsite and where it is wonderful to "paddle" on warm days. Finders Keepers France is a Camping and Glamping retreat situated at a non-working French Farm. Listed as an ADULTS ONLY retreat this allows guests the chance to relax, recharge and enjoy the peaceful setting. Encased within 16 Acres of rural grounds with a 3 Acre lake, you will feel alone and surrounded by nature. Despite its rural peaceful setting the site is close to the beautiful towns of Nerac and Condom (Lot-et-Garonne/Gers). Far enough away for people who enjoy the peace and quiet of Nature yet close enough to great amenities. The campsite is located within a walnut orchard and consists of only 4 tents. Away from the camping and glamping site there is an ECO holiday cottage and a holiday Gite for rental. All tents come complete with everything you would need for a relaxing and memorable holiday. Everything is here and ready to go from the moment you arrive. The 4 tents on offer are a Tipi style glamping tent, a glamping bell tent, an inflatable black tent or if you want to bring your own bedding and towels go for the inflatable black tent basic. All tents come with their own private cooking and dining area plus there is a communal area that contains a fridge, washing station, small dining area and a zone to cook on wet weather days. There is access to an ECO manual camping washing machine, an iron and ironing board and a pamper room with an hairdryer. There is an Eco green composting toilet within the orchard plus a flushing toilet in the main social area. For washing there is a mains shower in the main social area plus an open-air ECO Mediterranean outdoor shower next to the swimming pool. We are an eco-retreat therefore try to keep light pollution to a minimum. This allows fabulous sky viewing and interest from wildlife. A telescope is available for use at no extra cost. All our outdoor lighting and internal tent lighting is solar. We do advise that you bring a torch and binoculars just in case their power is low. There is an above ground swimming pool plus you can swim in the 3-acre freshwater lake. Around the lake you will find many picnic benches, 2 rowing boats and a Canadian kayak. Located within the outdoor lounge area you will also find a cooling pool. This is perfect for sitting and cooling your feet or standing in whilst enjoying a refreshing drink from the bar. Activities: Archery, badminton, pool table, swimming, dart board, board games, book library, telescope. Refreshments: Café that sells drinks only (No food). Ice cream and milk shake bar. Shop: Small camping shop that sells basic camping necessities plus holiday needs. Parking for any size vehicle. No electric hook up. At the property you will also find 3 rescue dogs. A naughty Chihuahua called Nigel, a very young nervous chihuahua called Eddie, and a shitzu x called Lewis. There are also 3 rescue cats called Sunflower, Dumpy, and Ginger who live in the grounds. We have placed many hammocks, tables, chairs and benches in and around the grounds so you can just sit, relax and enjoy the views, wildlife, and weather. Plus, there is an indoor and an outdoor communal lounge. We focus on leaving technology behind therefore we do not offer Wi-Fi. We ask noise to be kept to a minimum for the benefit of the guests that stay with us. Music will be played in the café lounge bar when open. **Please Note - Tourist tax will be added to the price of your stay. This tax will be collected by the accommodation provider you are staying at, on behalf of Albret Communauté and the Société du Grand Projet du Sud-Ouest. This tax is based on the type of accommodation and the number of people. Tent price will be 0.27€ per person per night and will be collected on arrival to the site.

Overview

With almost 720 kilometres of Atlantic coastline stretching from La Rochelle down to the Basque Country, and a whopping 12 departments, Nouvelle-Aquitaine is France’s largest region. Campers can take their pick of outdoor adventures. Pitch your tent amid the vineyards in the world-famous Bordeaux wine region, swim, and surf along miles of golden beaches, or rent a mobile home on the shores of a sun-kissed Atlantic island. Inland, the Dordogne and Lot rivers carve a scenic path through some of the country’s most idyllic landscapes, while to the south, the rambling forests of the Landes tumble down to the wild peaks of the Pyrenees.

Where to go

Poitou-Charentes

The maritime city of La Rochelle is the cultural hub of Poitou-Charentes, from where you can explore the beaches, oyster farms, and pine forests of Ré, d’Oléron, and Aix islands. Inland, this department is the ideal place to experience the simple pleasures of the French countryside, stopping off to sample the local liquor in Cognac and visit the historic cities of Poitiers and Angouleme along the way.

Limousin

The historic Limousin region, made up of the Corrèze, Creuse, and Haute-Vienne departments, is the road-less-travelled for most campers in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Bound by the mountains of the Massif Central and famous for its cattle farming, this hilly agricultural province is full of sleepy villages and farmland campsites. Limoges is the only sizable city, while the riverside town of Brive-la-Gaillarde makes the most picturesque base.

Dordogne & Lot

The region’s rural heartland is fed by the Dordogne, Lot, and Garonne rivers, affording miles of rambling river valleys, dense forests, and sweeping cliffs dotted with medieval villages and ancient caves. Campers will be in their element here, whether you want to escape to a tranquil campsite amid rolling hills, go glamping in a yurt, or take your campervan on an epic road trip to towns like Rocamadour, Sarlat-la-Canéda, and Villeneuve sur Lot.

Gironde & Landes

Nouvelle-Aquitaine’s regional capital, Bordeaux, and much of its coastline are contained with the huge Gironde and Landes departments, where you’ll find endless stretches of golden sand, billowing dunes (including Europe’s highest sand dune), and great surf and water sports. Coastal campers have endless options, whether you prefer the vine-flanked Gironde estuary in the north, the dreamy Silver Coast around Arcachon Bay, or the maritime pines of the immense Landes forest.

Pyrénées-Atlantiques

Summer sun-seekers and surfers make a beeline for the beaches of the French Basque Country, where Biarritz and Bayonne are the liveliest hubs. Away from the coast, the broad peaks and wildflower-speckled plateaus of the Pyrénées mountains tempt campers into the highlands. This is where you’ll find some of France’s best hiking, mountain biking, and camping, and true adventurers can even bivouac in the wild.
