Thomas Canyon Campground is a great developed area, with paved roads and pull-ins and lots of shade. Lamoille Creek runs right through the middle of camp. The hiking trail right out of camp heads quickly up to a very nice waterfall and, at trail's end in two miles, a lovely high alpine bowl. Another five miles upcanyon takes you to the Lamoille Lake/Ruby Crest Trail trailhead (Lamoille Lake is pictured on the main listing page) as well as to the Island Lake trailhead.
