Head to the wooden bridge, where you can see the 1,500-year-old wikiup structures created by the Native Americans that inhabited this land or explore the nearby railroad crossing, where the nation’s second transcontinental railroad first crossed.

Some of Seminole Canyon State Park’s most impressive history and natural wonder can be viewed best from the trail. Wander down the Windmill Nature Trail to see Bill Worrell’s sculpture tribute to the Desert Archaic people, whose ancient art can be seen on the canyon walls. Or take a guided hike around the rim of the canyon, stopping to take in the view at Presa Canyon and Panther Cave overlooks.
