Situated in a quiet and peaceful rural setting, the Severn River is a boater's and sportsman's paradise offering excellent fishing for the angler. Diverse waters for both the powerboater and the sailor. Clean beaches and water for swimming and tubing. Miles of pristine shoreline for the kayaker to explore. And expansive wetlands for the waterfowl hunter. Or venture further into the Mobjack and Chesapeake Bay with easy access from this site.
The property is located near the end of a lightly traveled (dead end) road for safe bicycling and walking.
Large grass area for field games. Fishing and crabbing at our private dock. Fantastic sunrises, sunsets, and moonlight shimering on the water.
If you are fortunate enough to be here when the waterman return to the dock with their fresh catch of crabs or oysters--- they just might sell you some right off of the boat! Nothing is better than a truly fresh meal of Chesapeake Bay seafood, and the harvest that lands at our docks is world class.
Conveniently located 15 minutes from Yorktown, VA. which offers many historic and modern attractions, including an excellent white sand swimming beach.

35 minutes from Busch Gardens and Water Country theme parks, and 1 hr from King's Dominion theme park.
Be aware that this is a working waterfront, and as such you should expect very early activity and noise as commercial fisherman head out in pursuit of their days catch.
Situated in an area of coastal salt marsh which can become "buggy" when the wind is still. Have insect repellent available.

The Guinea farm is 18 acres of feild and forest on the rural middle pennensula. Only 1 mile from 2 separate secluded beaches and a boat launch. There is verly little traffic or light polution here, nature is at your fingertips.
Come visit the farm and experience agrotourism at it's finest. Pick your own veggies in the community garden and meet the Guinea fowl! Enjoy the windernes and learn about the local ecosystem here on the middle pennensula.
There are 3 sites spaced out across the 18 acres set apart for privacy. Wisteria is a primative site closer to the entrance gate. Trilogy is a suspended tree tent in the pines 700' beyond that and seperated by dense forest. Stargazer Tiny cabin is an offgrid rustic camping cabin on the back side of the property.
Each site is surronded by several acres of forest and close to the edge of a large feild. There are romaing guinea fowl that may come make a very loud appearance as they canvas the property eating bugs. Deer, Turkeys, Bald Eagles, foxes, and other wildlife are common guests also. Mid-summer is what I call frog season, Tree frogs are abundant and provide a wonderful soundtrack.
There are free to use bicycles, an axe throwing board, and cornhole boards available.
4 miles from shopping and dining in Mathews Virginia, 15 miles to Gwynn Island. Gwynn's Island is an island located in the Chesapeake Bay off of Virginia's Middle Peninsula. The island is located in the northeast part of Mathews County, south of the mouth of the Piankatank River. It is connected to the rest of the county by a swing bridge over Milford Haven.

From my farm there is a free ferry in Scotland where the ferry departs to Williamsburg just 30 minutes. At my farm I have 5 sites for tent/camping so it’s spaced appropriately apart I have 2 Rv sites totally away for their privacy and a new mini house also properly spaced away. All have a clean picnic table and a fire pit. 100 feet away you’ll find that clean bathroom, shower and a wash station for hygiene. You’ll see the love I put into this and because I love it and my prior guests love it, which means it may be right for you also. In the town of Wakefield you’ll find gas stations, dollar stores, a Value food market and if you want (to go) food we have that also. Plus it’s home to The Virginia Diner. Amenities include toilet access, a shower, trash disposal, picnic tables, and potable water. Pets are allowed, as are campfires.

Susan was quick to respond for confirming the booking. This was my second stay at Peace Hill and I had a wonderful time. I stayed at Site 3 and it is very flat and close to the Lafayette Hall where there are bathrooms with showers and a kitchen. The site faces the owners main house and horse ring. If you want more privacy, pick the sites on the other side of the Lafayette Hall. I loved walking the property and visiting the farm animals!

Peace Hill is a beautiful working farm which provided plenty of level space to camp. There is plenty of room to load and unload tow vehicles. The generous permission to use the community center kitchen and bath were outstanding perks. For bicycle enthusiasts, its proximity to the Capital Bike Trail Charles City Parking area was a bonus. For tourists, it is close to Jamestown and Williamsburg. I loved watching the exercising of the horses. The friendly waves of those feeding the farm animals made me feel welcome. Susan was very accommodating when I had to leave early due to snow. I will definitely revisit this site when in the area.
FYI: I found it best to put Peace Hill Fellowship in when goggling directions so I wouldn't end up at the Bed & Breakfast.

Roderick was super kind. He let me move to the spot with the best morning sunrise view, made sure I knew where the fire pit was and left the light on in the outside portal potty. He stood around for a moment to answer all my questions about his site, made me feel very comfortable. What a wonderful place to wake up, the sunrise was absolutely stunning.

Weekend Trip to Blanchard Farm
My favorite part of the property was the fun little things to do. Rope swings, hammocks, hunting stand to climb. It was fun to be walking around the woods and come across random little things. The yurt sites were very private and provided your own space for relaxing. I was the only one camping this weekend, but they still seem spaced out enough to feel secluded. Definitely more space than what is given between lots at a state park.
Josh and his wife were both very kind and helpful. I have a hard time packing too much around due to health issues, and Josh was kind enough to put me in the closest yurt and help me with the firewood I purchased. The yurt is spacious and gives you a home away from home feel while still being in the outdoors and leaving things like electricity away. I will definitely be back! Thank you so much for such a great trip.

Stargazer tiny cabin at the Guinea Farm was perfect for me and my pup. Ian was the perfect host and made us feel so welcome. Meeting the chickens and guineas was a lot of fun and the beach nearby was breathtaking. We explored the area, had a few campfires, and relaxed. Even the rainstorm was amazing while inside Stargazer!!! The cabin was super cool. We will be returning! Just a quick note that did not detract from the experience at all - we did encounter some hunting dogs loose at the beach hunting a deer. Its obviously hunting season and off the location, just good to note. We loved our trip here and valued meeting Ian and learning about his much loved birds, clearly living in paradise. Definitely worth a visit! The cabin itself was extremely clean and well stocked. The property was fun to explore, even has corn hole and axe throwing!

1 night at The Guinea Farm, Field, and Forest
I’m a returning camper. Last time I went to Trilogy. Love this whole property. 2WD accessible. I was greeted by the host Ian who promptly brought me a huge pile of firewood. Campsite has a nice picnic table and nice fire ring with swivel cooking grate.
The treehouse features a deck with a tent for anyone who needs it. The treehouse also has a griddle and grill running off a propane tank.
Inside the treehouse has bar stools and a bar top dining area. It also has L-shaped benches on the back wall and a foldable table. There is a projector with Roku stick for streaming off of their WiFi. Also for fun there is a Nintendo 64 with 3 games including Mario Kart 64. All electrical components run off a battery powered by solar. There are USB-A ports in various area for your convenience. Additionally there are cots and camping chairs provided.
I had a great time and felt very safe on the site. I really got to relive some childhood memories sleeping in a treehouse and playing video games. I highly recommend.
If sleeping in the provided tent isn’t your thing or you have brought your own, there are countless areas surrounding the treehouse and an adjacent field with ample room 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

2 nights at Anvil Campground
It was a very good experience for our first hip camp experience. The bed was super comfortable. The temperature control air circulation in the cabin was great. The bathroom and showers were really clean and nice.

Loved everything!! Needed a nice wooded fall location for a photoshoot and this was perfect!! Ian was wonderful and offered a tour and let us see the birds before we headed over to our rented site which was such a cute set up! We will definitely be back!

Overview
About
This fort was originally built by Capt. John Smith in 1609. It stayed in service until World War II after it was upgraded and rebuilt. Today, the fort is both a historical monument and a vibrant seaside town off the coast of Hampton, Virginia.
The most significant contribution Fort Monroe made to American history was during the Civil War. On May 27, 1861, Maj. Gen. Benjamin Butler proclaimed that any escaped slaves that made their way to the fort were considered free. This was despite the fact that Virginia seceded from the Union a few months before. The fort miraculously stayed in Union hands for the entire war. Confederates were more concerned about Richmond, about 80 miles to the northwest.
Freedom's Fortress was a working military installation until after World War II. The distinct hexagonal shape is huge. The Chapel of the Centurion served as a wedding venue for relatives of former presidents. The Casemate Museum shows you where Jefferson Davis was imprisoned after the Civil War. Old Point Comfort Lighthouse guided ships into the harbor before modern navigational tools.
The surrounding town has everything you need for a vacation. A campground just north of the fort serves as a home base right next to the Atlantic Ocean.
