Homesteaded more than 100 years ago this farm is somewhat stuck in time. Once this was a prosperous dairy operation. Location location location, this place is my slice of heaven on earth. Located in the corner of 4 townships on an extremely quiet road. Our farm now raises grass fed beef and wooly pigs pastured along driveway along with the usual cast of a farm, dogs, cats, chickens, guineas and goats

This property has 4 camp spots. Sites 1 and 4 have a boat landing. All sites have shades trees that can hold hammocks. All sites are right next to the lake. Site 3 has a dock that all can use. There is excellent swimming with a sandy bottom at the south end of the lake. The lake is stocked with perch in 2024 but has walleye, northern, bass as well. It is also close to many lakes that are good for fishing. I have a 14' fishing boat with trolling motor, a paddle boat, 2 kayaks, and canoe for campers to use for free. Firewood is available for $5/day. There is some hiking on the property and much near by. Biking is also good with small lakes nearby to visit. We live on a 10 acre property with many mature trees and a walking path cut through the middle. We do not have any farm animals but there are some in area so the normal farm smells blow through on occasion. We have a 7 hole disc golf course on the property. We have six 30 amp/110 electric hook ups and 2 water hook ups. There is plenty of room to play yard games. The historic Dodd Ford bridge just 3 miles away. The small town of Amboy is just 4 miles away. There is a Casey's gas station in town and a couple different dining options. The stars are amazing at night out here.

Overview

About

Golfers and Civil War buffs (also known as dads) will revel in all that Fort Ridgely State Park has to offer. This park preserves the site of the Battle of Fort Ridgely, an important U.S. victory in the 1862 war with the Dakota Indians. Roam the rustic stone structures, wooden bridges, and ruins, and visit the impressive Fort Defenders Monument, which lists the names of all who lost their lives in the battle. You can also take in the green at the only Minnesota state park with a nine-hole golf course (you’ll get two free passes if you stay three or more consecutive nights).

Even if that’s not your scene, Fort Ridgely has a loaded arsenal of fun for the whole fam—enjoy the beautiful valley overlook or explore the hiking trails on horseback, swim in nearby Swan Lake, or ski if the season’s right. The park has a gorgeous chalet for winter visitors, and a renovated farmhouse, both excellent for rounding out your historical throwback experience.
