Runaway Bay Lodge is the first private property past The Pine Island RV Campground, on the right side of the street.
OUR PROPERTY IS NOT LOCATED IN THE CAMPGROUND.
We have 4 separate units on our property, including 2 cabins and 3 yurts, Each cabin and yurt is set up with only one bed, in each. We are a perfect spot for solo journeyers and couples. Larger groups can rent multiple units. We also host 3rd party retreats for up to 12 total guests.
We do allow cannabis smoking on our property, in the common areas outside of the tents and cabins.
We offer our exclusive holistic services and Yoga, Plant Based Vegan, Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian Meal Options, Energy work and other holistic well-being services, Small Group Retreats, Boat Tours and Boat Rentals.

We live on the property. It is very private but, at the same time, close to everything. Grocery store and restaurants nearby. 1 mi from the highway.
15min to Flagler Beach (top surf place in Florida!).
A lot of stuff to do around - fishing, canoeing and swimming( ocean is10-15 minutes drive), natural preserves, parks and historic places. Tennis court, pickle ball courts and a play ground (5min walk). Daytona Beach and historic St.Augustine( 20-30 min drive). A little over an hour to Orlando, Jacksonville or Cape Canaveral.
We have a water and electricity hook ups. Spaces for the boats are available also. No sewage disposal. There is a dog on the property. We have about a dozen of chickens and a few roosters.The property is conveniently located 1 mile away from the Interstate 95, and 1 mile away from US1. 3 min drive to the grocery store( Publix).
Plenty of stuff to do around - fishing, canoeing and swimming- within 10-15 minutes to the River, Beaches and the Ocean; tons of natural preserves, parks and historic places. Tennis court, pickle ball courts and a play ground is across the street. 20-30 min to Daytona Beach or historic St.Augustine. A little over an hour to Orlando with Disney, Universal and other parks, Jacksonville or Cape Canaveral. Whatever your interest is - you can find it around - many of restaurants, wine tasting, fresh food market 7 days a week, NASCAR, Auditorium with performances, water sports, bike week, movie theater, and many more.

Roxie is a wonderful host who met us upon arrival and departure to make sure all was going well. She even gave us some amazing fresh eggs from her chickens that roam freely on the land. (Be prepared for a lot of rooster crowing EARLY in the mornings). Our campsite was level and had water and electric. It was not too close to the other campers who were there and we had plenty of privacy. Star gazing was awesome! Highly recommend."

Mount Dora is across the main street less than 5 minutes away. Our antique town is an amazing experience to explore with lots of history and complete with quaint shops and restaurants, boating and lots of things to do. Rennigers Antique Center is located right up the street (less than 5 minutes away) for some great picking. We are conveniently close to the Central Florida Attractions and the beach on both east and west coasts within an hour drivep. A few Campers favorite places to visit are Mount Dora Bike Trail - 2.6 miles, Kelly Park - 11 miles and Kings Landing 12 miles from farm.
We offer youth day camps on various dates, pony rides and a tour of our farm animals for an additional fee.
Reservations required in advance due to the other activities we have going on.
In 2007, we had no idea where this adventure was going to take us.
Our small urban farm was sharing our miniature animals with assisted living facilities and Neulife, where we have 3 miniature horses that live on their property.
Little by little we have evolved into more of a need to share with the community and help others with the relaxing qualities our farm and animals have to offer, we want to be able to share and better educate with hands on experiences, teach kindness, patience, confidence and help others to be the best they can be.

We are surrounded by wildlife native to Florida including bears, coyote, bobcats, alligators, raccoons and many more. The area is fenced in. The campsite is approximately 1000ft from the road but some traffic may be heard during peak hours. A Paved walking and cycling trail leads to boomba sports complex, the environmental center, and Lake Jessup in one direction and big tree park in the other. The trail is part of the cross seminole trail system.

Access to the bathroom and pool area is an amazing bonus when you’re camping. Wood was available for a fire. We will definitely be back if we are in the area again.

My family loved our RV camping experience here! Very friendly hosts, great piece of property with trails everywhere! We spent all of our days trail riding and snorkeling in the many options of springs in the area! Come prepared, not much is out there but there’s a cute pizza spot and laundromat down the road and the dollar general had basic kitchen needs. All hook ups worked great with no problems and there was a huge fire pit that we used every night! Even though we were so disconnected and out there, we still had good cell service and our portable internet (att&t) worked great for mapping needs.

It was a very convenient location. Surprisingly quiet, we felt very safe. Across the street we were able to access the Cross Seminole Trail with endless recreation trails and parks! Honestly most amazing vibe, Shan is awesome! We had a 2 flats on the way in didn't make it in until way late they were amazingly understanding and helped us get set up late at night. We have pets and a toddler and we do not feel like a bother which is a huge plus...He's over there working in his area every morning but totally friendly and non invasive, even rescued my senior escape artist dog (19 ish years old) who wander off and brought him back to me..... The quiet secluded location is amazing, the wildlife is astounding and oh the stars talk about beautiful..... This is exactly what out family needed to unplug and unwind. The water pressure is great, no issues at all with anything here. Secluded but an amazing area and the over all feel is 100% freedom!!! I absolutely love this location! 10/10 recommend!!!

We had a great stay at Penny Lane! Mark and his wife were welcoming and made sure we had everything (50 to 30 converter). Their land is nestled amongst pet horses, chickens and moss covered oaks. I was peaceful yet minutes from Mount Dora and several hiking trailheads.

Jay’s place is such a gem! I booked last minute for one night on my way to south Florida and wish I could have stayed longer. The property is huge and beautiful, with big shade trees and a relaxed, old Florida vibe. Jay was out of town during my stay but Todd and Liz, the hosts/caretakers, could not have been nicer or more accommodating (thanks again for everything Liz!) Highly recommended!

Very peaceful at night after the activity calms Awesome view of the stars. Fire pit and charcoal grill. Firewood available for a small fee. Chairs for sitting and talking or quietly relaxing. During the day you can relax and read or interact with the goats, the donkey, the chickens and best of all the little pig. Eggs and Goat milk soap of all different scents to choose from. Eggs also for a small fee for cooking. Best of all my little dog was free off leash. You must keep them under control though. No chasing the other animals. Their dog and mine got along pretty good after they got to know each other. It was like camping out on a little farm. Canopys of Old Oak trees, large enough to go off to the less active areas or closer to the animals and friendly environment. The hosts are so wonderful. One of the best HipCamp's I've stayed at. We loved it!!!

Our recent stay was exceptional. The site is ideally located, offering beautiful views and a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The host Laura and her husband were incredibly accommodating and have clearly invested a great deal of care into creating a thoughtfully designed, well-maintained space. It exceeded our expectations, and we look forward to returning.
