Oftentimes, getting where you wanna go in Alaska involves boating in or taking flight. But, not at Quartz Lake State Rec Area! This hotspot is home to some of the best road-accessible fishing in all of interior Alaska. That’s a good thing, too, because fishing is one of the biggest draws out here. But, that’s hardly all there is to do. Hike to Bluff Point and soak in the views, go for a swim, grab some binoculars and see what wildlife you can catch a glimpse of…really, the outdoor fun is essentially limitless. In the winter, ice fishing, dog mushing, and rustic cabin stays keep the fun going.
