A homestead occupied by my wife and I, Hipcampers ourselves, consisting of approximately three acres of beautiful property in a low lying bottom of the surrounding topography. Only 2 miles from "Buckshot Speedway", dirt track fans can enjoy the ultimate weekend. Campsites are approximately 40' x 40' allowing plenty of room for tents, car or hammock camping. Come stay at our charming little woodland paradise. We are located on 2.55 acres, in the country and live on-site, so if you need anything, please let us know. There are security cameras located throughout the property. The gazebo, down the hill from the house, offers a wonderful place to eat, read, drink coffee or play games. We have many games on hand for you to play that are sure to keep you laughing. The firepit is large and is perfect for those chilly nights.smokeless pit up by the gazebo. Please make sure all fires are put out and all tiki torches are extinguished before going to sleep. We have dog, but she is in the white fenced in area and is very friendly. There are flower beds, flowering trees, bushes and wildflowers scattered among the property. If you come at the right time of year, you'll see all the beautiful blooms. We also have wild blackberries, blueberry bushes and scuppernong vines. Feel free to forage on those while you're with us. There is a lot of wildlife you could potentially see while staying here such as squirrels, chipmunks, beautiful birds of all kinds, lots of butterflies, owls, red tailed hawks, armadillos, racoons and even foxes. After a heavy rain, you will hear our small creek trickling.
We have unlimited tent camping sites, with access to a water hose only. They are located down the hill, to the back of our property. Our one back in pad is located house. 30 foot maximum length rig. We also have one boondocking gravel pad available, with no hookups, that is located across the driveway from our house. Quiet hours are from 10pm until 6am. Absolutely no discharging of firearms allowed at any time. Alcohol is permitted, for those 21 and older, as long as the noise level and behavior don't become a nuisance. There will be no tolerance for use of illegal drugs. Dogs are allowed as long as they aren't aggressive and not allowed to roam outside of our property. Please be sure to clean up after them.
Our cute, quaint little town of Wetumpka is only 5 miles down the road. It was featured on HGTV's Hometown Takeover in 2021, was featured in the movie Big Fish and is a picture perfect town, with many locally owned shops and restaurants. It's located right on the Coosa River, where you can kayak in the summer, launch your boat or fish year round. There's also a fantastic park with a nice walking trail that goes along the river. Stop in at Coosa River Craft House or Coosa Cleaver for refreshing adult beverages and live music. Look for the Big Fish house. It's the big white house on the hill. We are 10 minutes from Lake Jordan and 30 from Lake Martin. Fort Toulouse National Historic Park is 15 minutes away. There you can tour over 6,000 years of history. You can tour the French and American Forts or the Mississippian Indian Mound site, or just relax and take a walk along the trails. Just ten minutes north of us is Swayback Bridge. There are five loop trials available, ranging from 1 miles to 11.2 miles. You can hike or bike them. The bridge is 290 feet long and does over Lake Jordan. There are many festivals that happen throughout the year in our cute little town, including the Mardi Gras Festival and Galentine's in Feb., Coosa Palooza Brewfest in April, the River and Blues Music and Arts Festival in July, the Coosa Candy Crawl in Oct., and Christmas on the Coosa in Dec. Wind Creek Casino is only 6 miles from our property, if you want to chance your luck with some gaming. We are 20 miles from Montgomery, which is jam packed with civil rights historical sites, museums, a zoo, fabulous restaurants, a riverboat cruise on the Alabama River, a sip and cycle pedal boat cruise, and a white water rafting park.

We currently have primitive tent camping that can easily fit 4-5 tents or hammock camping.
Both options sit alongside Sofkahatchee creek. We have 15 acres of untouched forest to wonder through and help you reconnect with mother nature. It’s my favorite spot for meditation and grounding.
The sky is amazingly dark around here and stargazing would be at the top of my list of things I love about the property.
This area is full of wildlife. Raccoons, deer, turkey, possums, armadillo, snakes, and even bears. I haven’t personally ran in to any bears but they have been sited.
So, who knows what you will befriend while in the wild.
The camping areas are very private. It’s part of a 50 acre lot that has recently been cleared and in the process of reseeding and preparing for a pond and farm life. So, sorry if you run in to anything that isn’t picturesque but your camp site will be beautiful and peaceful.

Smoky Bottom Farms offers campers many different options to accommodate your primitive camping needs. A homestead occupied by my wife and I, Hipcampers ourselves, consisting of approximately three acres of beautiful property in a low lying bottom of the surrounding topography. Only 2 miles from "Buckshot Speedway", dirt track fans can enjoy the ultimate weekend. Campsites are approximately 40' x 40' allowing plenty of room for tents, car or hammock camping. Extra amenities, depending on availability, at additional cost, such as towels, all natural bug deterrent body wash, all natural bug deterrent laundry detergent, firewood, fire pit, fire starters, bbq grill, etc. Additional options are subject to change and highly recommended to submit request ahead of arrival to help better assist you. We accept Venmo, Cashapp and Facebook Pay. Check in after 2:00 p.m. and check out is 12:00 p.m. Early check in and late check out available for a small fee if available. Welcome to Linger Longer II, a secluded riverfront cabin perfect for families, nature lovers, and weekend adventurers. Tucked away on the banks of the Cahaba River, this peaceful stilted cabin offers privacy, comfort, and beautiful water views—only minutes from Centreville’s historic square, local shops, and eateries.
Nestled down a long dirt driveway, the cabin features a wraparound porch and an open-concept interior filled with natural light, warm wood finishes, and vintage charm. Inside, enjoy an airy A-frame living space with exposed beams, a reclining couch, glider chair, movies, and a fully stocked kitchen (minus groceries). The dining nook overlooks the river, making every meal scenic. Sleeping arrangements include a master bedroom with a queen bed and porch access, plus a loft with two twin beds. The bathroom offers double sinks and a standing shower.

Come stay at our charming little woodland paradise. We are located on 2.55 acres, in the country and live on-site, so if you need anything, please let us know. There are security cameras located throughout the property. The gazebo, down the hill from the house, offers a wonderful place to eat, read, drink coffee or play games. We have many games on hand for you to play that are sure to keep you laughing. The firepit is large and is perfect for those chilly nights.smokeless pit up by the gazebo. Please make sure all fires are put out and all tiki torches are extinguished before going to sleep. We have dog, but she is in the white fenced in area and is very friendly. There are flower beds, flowering trees, bushes and wildflowers scattered among the property. If you come at the right time of year, you'll see all the beautiful blooms. We also have wild blackberries, blueberry bushes and scuppernong vines. Feel free to forage on those while you're with us. There is a lot of wildlife you could potentially see while staying here such as squirrels, chipmunks, beautiful birds of all kinds, lots of butterflies, owls, red tailed hawks, armadillos, racoons and even foxes. After a heavy rain, you will hear our small creek trickling.
We have unlimited tent camping sites, with access to a water hose only. They are located down the hill, to the back of our property. Our one back in pad is located house. 30 foot maximum length rig. We also have one boondocking gravel pad available, with no hookups, that is located across the driveway from our house. Quiet hours are from 10pm until 6am. Absolutely no discharging of firearms allowed at any time. Alcohol is permitted, for those 21 and older, as long as the noise level and behavior don't become a nuisance. There will be no tolerance for use of illegal drugs. Dogs are allowed as long as they aren't aggressive and not allowed to roam outside of our property. Please be sure to clean up after them.
Our cute, quaint little town of Wetumpka is only 5 miles down the road. It was featured on HGTV's Hometown Takeover in 2021, was featured in the movie Big Fish and is a picture perfect town, with many locally owned shops and restaurants. It's located right on the Coosa River, where you can kayak in the summer, launch your boat or fish year round. There's also a fantastic park with a nice walking trail that goes along the river. Stop in at Coosa River Craft House or Coosa Cleaver for refreshing adult beverages and live music. Look for the Big Fish house. It's the big white house on the hill. We are 10 minutes from Lake Jordan and 30 from Lake Martin. Fort Toulouse National Historic Park is 15 minutes away. There you can tour over 6,000 years of history. You can tour the French and American Forts or the Mississippian Indian Mound site, or just relax and take a walk along the trails. Just ten minutes north of us is Swayback Bridge. There are five loop trials available, ranging from 1 miles to 11.2 miles. You can hike or bike them. The bridge is 290 feet long and does over Lake Jordan. There are many festivals that happen throughout the year in our cute little town, including the Mardi Gras Festival and Galentine's in Feb., Coosa Palooza Brewfest in April, the River and Blues Music and Arts Festival in July, the Coosa Candy Crawl in Oct., and Christmas on the Coosa in Dec. Wind Creek Casino is only 6 miles from our property, if you want to chance your luck with some gaming. We are 20 miles from Montgomery, which is jam packed with civil rights historical sites, museums, a zoo, fabulous restaurants, a riverboat cruise on the Alabama River, a sip and cycle pedal boat cruise, and a white water rafting park.

Come pitch a tent or hang your hammock between the beautiful hardwoods.
We currently have primitive tent camping that can easily fit 4-5 tents or hammock camping.
Both options sit alongside Sofkahatchee creek. We have 15 acres of untouched forest to wonder through and help you reconnect with mother nature. It’s my favorite spot for meditation and grounding.
The sky is amazingly dark around here and stargazing would be at the top of my list of things I love about the property.
This area is full of wildlife. Raccoons, deer, turkey, possums, armadillo, snakes, and even bears. I haven’t personally ran in to any bears but they have been sited.
So, who knows what you will befriend while in the wild.
The camping areas are very private. It’s part of a 50 acre lot that has recently been cleared and in the process of reseeding and preparing for a pond and farm life. So, sorry if you run in to anything that isn’t picturesque but your camp site will be beautiful and peaceful.

There are so many little towns near by. Our little town of Wetumpka is only 9 miles down the road. We loved the site. Our entire trip, my husband wanted to be out in the wilderness and enjoy the country view in the morning. We found it at Hilltop. Brian was very responsive and accommodating. We had to make a last minute booking at 9pm and he not only responded immediately, he made sure we were taken care of and had good info and directions. We were easily a le to pull in and get hooked up. In the morning we were able to set up chairs and drink our coffee looking out over the trees. Very peaceful and private. Exactly what we wanted. The kids played while we made breakfast. Then we had fun walking down to the farm and petting the goats. Their dog came out to greet us and was so sweet and fun. The kids played fetch with her. It was a 1-night stop in our travels and the kids are already asking to go back. Thank you Brian and family for a great stop in our vaca.

We had a fantastic stay! The location is perfect—quiet and peaceful, yet just a few minutes from downtown and Northport. Brian was an excellent host and very communicative. Heads up for RV travelers: the gravel driveway is steep, and we needed 4WD to get our 25-foot camper up. Just be prepared if you have a larger rig.

Water and sewer hook up Such a beautiful site, especially as the sun was setting over a small pond. Horses in the background made a perfect picture. Very quite and easily accessible. We had such a fun and memorable stay at Happy Hoves! Our visit even included a surprise guest—a curious goat who wandered in to check out our site. While he wasn’t Brian’s goat, our host was quick to step in and try to catch him and figure out where he belonged. It made for a lighthearted and unforgettable twist to our trip, and we appreciated how attentive and responsive Brian was.
The hosts were genuinely friendly, helpful, and easy to reach, which made the whole experience smooth from start to finish. The location was also great for us—we were even able to Uber to a concert nearby, which was a huge bonus.
Our hilltop site was one driveway down from the GPS address, just up the paved road on the left. Once we had the directions, it was easy to find. The spot itself was peaceful and scenic, a perfect mix of privacy and open views. We did need to use leveling blocks for our rig since the site had a bit of slope, but that was no issue and pretty typical for hillside camping.
Between the welcoming hosts, the convenient location, and our unique goat encounter, this stay will definitely be one we remember. We would absolutely stay again and highly recommend Happy Hoves to anyone looking for a friendly, scenic, and well-located Hipcamp spot.

This was a great experience. Brian and his wife were very friendly and made our overnight stay comfortable and enjoyable. There was even a special event that made our stop extra meaningful for our 7-year-old granddaughter. Just hours before our arrival, one of their goats had 2 kids! Our granddaughter was able to hold and cuddle the newborns. We even stopped by the next morning on the way out to say goodbye to the newborns.
The site up on the hill (earlier rain made the field too wet) was perfect.

Before we arrived, Brian let us know the field was really muddy from the rain, so he moved us to the hill, which had an awesome view of the wooded neighborhood and the night sky was amazing. He met us as we pulled in to make sure we were ok. Although the hill was in the open, it still offered privacy, as it was surrounded by the forest. The only issue was that the gravel was black and grey, and without shade, the a/c in our camper had a hard time keeping us cool during the day. We visited the goats, and Brian's wife, Katie, was very pleasant and allowed us in the field to interact with them (the goats were a little shy though). I would highly recommend Happy Hooves Farm and would love to stay again.

This was a perfect place for a quick overnight camp after kayaking on the Coosa river at Wetumpka, AL (about 12 minute drive). Campsite overlooking the creek was nice and included a fire pit. The county road was about a quarter mile away so you could hear a car passing every so often but you couldn't see them. Very private. I would stay there again.
