Nestled along the serene banks of the Nechako River, Riverside Park Campground offers a unique blend of tranquility and accessibility, making it the perfect getaway just a short 10-minute stroll from downtown Vanderhoof. Open seasonally from the May long weekend through the September long weekend, the campground features 38 well-equipped sites, including two pull-through and three double sites. Each site accommodates both trailers and tents, with convenient water and electricity connections available. For those needing extra power, four sites offer 50A electrical service. Campers can also enjoy clean bathroom facilities and refreshing showers located within the park. While free WiFi is accessible at the campground office, please note that it is not available at individual campsites. Riverside Park enhances your camping experience with a variety of amenities just steps away. Enjoy the playground, scenic walking and running paths, a covered picnic area, and a sand volleyball court (remember to bring your own ball). This was a return stay for me - the site is safe and secure for a solo female traveler, has toilets and showers, and is super convenient. The host/manager was available when I arrived and the site itself had both grass and gravel to choose from for pitching my tent.

This was a perfect little stop overnight. I had a flat graveled tent site with grass surrounding, there’s full service bathrooms and showers, and the creek is quite close. They’ve developed a nice little path along the river to explore. I’ll stay again.
