Nature’s Retreat

Located, just 25 minutes from the pristine beaches of Yamba and Iluka. Across the river and just 15 minutes from the Scottish town of Maclean, nestled high in the Yamba hinterland. You will not hear traffic, you will not see headlights. Pure peace and tranquility for you to relax, chill and enjoy. The sites are surrounded by rugged mountainous bush land with views, trails, cliffs, 3 creeks to explore and includes a private lake ‘Lake Arid’ with its own island, ‘Dead Dog Island’. Swim, paddle, fish, play. Metres away is another private swimming hole ‘Pants Off Pond’ stocked with Silver Perch and Bass. So whether you indulge in pants off, or leave them on and just fish it’s up to you. Explore a little further and you’ll find ‘The Abyss’ a former micro quarry, 9m deep waterhole. The creeks have waterfalls, swimming holes, pure and clean, though are a rugged unmarked hike. The sites are site only. You’ll need to take care of your waste, water, rubbish and power. Generator is ok, we’re out of earshot, so is everyone else. Each site has a picnic table and a fire pit and an abundance of ‘cut your own’ firewood upon the ground. Remember, fires this time of year are for ‘cooking only’, so be sure to bring those marshmallows… Pet Friendly, 4WD friendly with a bunch of serious challenges too… Horse friendly too, yep, there’s a yard to keep them too, up by the house. Accessible by 2WD with sites with enough space for any size caravan or motor home. While exploring, if you find a spot you’d rather camp, simply ask. We live on the property so help is nearby for any issues and the access road is shared. Peace, quiet and nature abounds.

We have a unique piece of paradise ready to welcome you. Two campsites only, ready for the quiet camper looking to be immersed in nature. Close to the beach and bush, you can drive to the nearest coastal towns of Yamba or Iluka for cafes, shops, surf & great fishing. Or simply stay and enjoy the wildlife and ecology that is Solum Farm. A perfect base camp to explore the area or overnight on a road trip. Just 3km off the highway with easy all vehicle access. We supply firewood, and there's a rustic undercover kitchen area, hot shower and flush loo for a bit of luxury. The sites are completely off grid. BYO drinking water, cooking supplies and solar power. The farm operates as a market garden with seasonal veggie boxes and eggs available to purchase, plus you can book a farm tour to take in the story of the plants and animals on the land.

20km from Laurence Road State Conservation Area · 2 sites · RVs
Two Mile Crossing is a 101 acre property consisting of mostly bushland with a small creek running through the middle, offering primitive bush camping for those who love to be out in nature. There is abundant birdlife here such as black cockatoos, kookaburras and tiny little robins, you will see bandicoots and the occasional goanna. The creek flows year 'round and when there has been good rains, there are plentiful deep water holes to dip your feet into and get cool. There are a few walking tracks throughout the property for those who like to take short walks and for longer bushwalking adventures, Two Mile Crossing is bordered by the Fortis Creek National Park where there a plentiful tracks for those who love to explore the bush. We are only 20 mins drive from the 'mighty' Clarence River which is great for swimming, canoeing and fishing and we are also only 25 mins from Grafton central which has shops, cinemas and places to eat. Just recently we have added two gorgeous piglets to our family who love to hang out with us and the chickens. Come and help us feed every afternoon. .
