Monument Peak Lookout

Sleep on top of the world and close to the stars at historic Monument Peak Lookout! This CCC-built fire lookout, overlooking Strawberry Ridge, is now equipped with mattresses, a propane stove, lanterns, and a nearby restroom. The road to the lookout is half the fun—steer your high clearance vehicles there in the summer, and in the winter, ride up to your digs on a snowmobile or by snowshoe. You’ll have to pack in some cozy bedding, water, and food, but the views are killer. And, right outside your doorstep are coniferous forests with streams and trails and eagles soaring overhead for all the exploring you could ask for. Take to the skies AND sleep soundly? Sounds like a win!
