All to yourself

Get away from it all when you stay among nature in this secluded off-grid tiny cabin in the forest. Complete with outdoor grill, fire pit, picnic table, well maintained outhouse, miles of trails and a large swimming or fishing pond.
This is a secluded off grid location without power, wifi, or cell service, so be prepared to UNPLUG and unwind.
Firewood for your first campfire is provided along with one tank of propane to run the indoor camp stove. Five gallons of drinking water are included with coffee and a French press. There is a cooler provided. Remember to bring ice for your groceries and sleeping bags!
Please include an extra rental fee of $20 for pets. Multiple firewood bundles can be waiting for you at $8 each (a decent fire's worth per bundle). This is a secluded Off-Grid A frame cabin in the woods of our 66 acres. We live on the property along with another traditional cabin. Water can be collected from a community mountain spring in the clearing by the main house.
There is no cell coverage at the cabin, but we have installed a cell signal amplifier at the pond and have great cell and data service from the nearest Verizon tower (several carriers use this network). Others may be iffy.
During late fall/winter hunting season, you may encounter a deer being dressed from the deer hanger. There will occasionally be a tractor or two running during the day. Wear something orange while exploring close to the property line at the top of the mountain during the first and last hours of daylight. We will notify you the day before if my husband or father-in-law (experienced hunters) plan to be in the woods.
We welcome all walks of life here, including dogs who get along well with other people and animals. Our dog, Silas, runs free and may try to follow you on your hikes. If you would not bring your dog to a dog park then please do not bring them here. Unfortunately our insurance does not allow for American Pit Bull Terriers. Please verify that your dog is well socialized when making a reservation.
We look forward to meeting you and yours!

Our stay at Jeanene’s Hipcamp was nothing short of amazing! We were able to truly connect with nature, enjoy a beautiful hike, and take time to recharge our souls. One of the highlights was hanging out with Sila, the sweetest dog who made our experience even more special. We’ve traveled to many places, including Colorado, but this spot has a unique charm that sets it apart. The peaceful surroundings and thoughtful touches made it a perfect getaway. We will definitely be back—thank you, Jeanene!

We had an amazing time at The Fox Den! The site was amazing with hiking trails and our four-legged tour guide Silas. The views were fantastic and the town of Floyd was worth exploring. Such a great getaway! ❤️

A-frame
Was a good experience. The road to the A-frame is extremely easy to find. Is a nice little set up. Propane is provided for the stove (bring a lighter, the one provided did not work), water is provided in a copper dispenser, lanterns are charged up, firewood was a nice addition, and the outhouse is the nicest one I have ever used (the wood chips keep the smell to a minimum). The hosts also ensure you understand the directions and message you ahead of time. There is 1 bar of service at the parking area. Overall 10/10 experience, would definitely recommend, just pull the trigger you won’t regret it, wish I got to spend more than one night.

Loved it! It was exactly what we needed to take a break. This place would be amazing in the summer! So sad we only could spent a night here.

Perfectly private and cozy
We loved our stay at the fox den and it was the perfect level of “glamp”. Private, cozy, and comfortable with basically everything you need, just byo blankets. It’s clear that Jeanene paid attention to the details that make her spot homey.
Also, we were impressed by the carpentry of the structure!
