100 Acres of forested land in the Draper, Virginia area with scattered clearings that are connected by various roads/trails throughout. Over the years cutting roads has been a hobby that has resulted in miles of cleared pathways throughout the property that are perfect for hiking, running, cycling, and horseback riding. The property includes a small stream, several ravines, ridge lines and trails to explore. We frequently encounter deer, rabbits, squirrels, and the occasional turkey, black bear, coyotes and Bigfoot. The thing people seem to enjoy most is the privacy and and quiet that allows you to connect with nature with no one else around.
Things to watch out for other than the wildlife mentioned above the two main concerns in this part of Virginia are deer ticks and poison ivy. We are located about 5 minutes from I-81 or 15 minutes from I-77 making it an easy place to stop when passing through on your way to other adventures. If you are coming on I-81, use exit 89-A. Don't let Google maps take you to Frog Level Ct near the town of Pulaski (LOL). Nearby attractions include Appalachian Gem and Gold Mine on Route 100 (5 min), New River Trail State Park (10 min), Claytor Lake State Park (20 min) and the Town of Draper has a couple small town shops to explore including The Draper Mercantile and Trading Company and the newly opened Conery where you can get wonderful ice cream cones and more.
We love hosting campers and are happy to help make accommodations to help you have an enjoyable stay. We have 3 sites but only allow 2 to be in use at a time on the property. This insures that all guests continue to feel complete privacy from others and allows us to always have an alternate site available if campers want to change.
Available "Extras" include portable toilet setup, Woodshop class making a cutting board, big foot siting's as well as various camping gear items and games. If there are other extra's you would like to see or something you forgot to bring please let us know and we will see what we can do.
David was such an incredible host. He took the time to come and give us a tour which our kids loved. We stayed here twice because we loved it so so much. Our dog was in dog heaven running around and exploring!!!

This was my favorite Hipcamp so far! Location is completely private and offers amazing views. I travel with dogs and they enjoyed this property as well. I stayed here while passing through as a last minute booking but hope to come back when I can spend more time here.

David is an excellent host and has a wonderful wooded property with great views! Really enjoyed staying at the Up on Top site. I have a 25ft class C RV and didn’t have any problem getting to the site. My friend that was meeting me didn’t have as easy a time. It snowed enough to coat the ground right after I set up camp. My friend’s fwd Kia Soul couldn’t make it up the last hill to the site due to the light snow. We parked at the bottom and David kindly came with his 4x4 and hauled us and our things to the campsite. We had a great time and will definitely come back again! Thank you for the great hospitality David!

David was an absolute pleasure. We stayed at his property on the way to Maryland from Texas and loved it so much we stayed again on our way back. The land is beautiful and there’s soooo much to explore. He was so kind and hospitable and gave us a tour. 10/10 recommend staying here!!!

Starry Night
This place was absolutely stunning! The open landscape offered breathtaking views of the stars, sunsets, sunrises, and even a full moon. Although we woke up to thick fog the next morning and missed the sunrise, the experience was still magical. The ground was perfectly level for our rooftop tent, making for a smooth and comfortable stay. We were even treated to a tour of the property, including the other two campsites, and were so grateful for the generous firewood provided. The hospitality here was top-notch, and we can’t wait to return for another unforgettable stay!
