Nomadic camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Welcome to wide open skies and expansive fields overlooking the remarkable Mt Elephant. Our property is around 2 hours from Melbourne, and offers fresh spring water with incredible views, and so much space! Pull up in a caravan or pitch a tent in a location of your choosing across our numerous fields. We offer a number of camping sites, but there is so much space, you'll be able to easily find a private and peaceful patch. All fields have wonderful views and are easily accessible. We don't however have toilets, so please ensure you are fully self-contained, with your own camp toilet. Campfires are permitted depending on local fire restrictions and ratings. Please ask if you’re unsure of the conditions during your stay. We recommend BYO firewood, as there is a limited amount of fallen timber around the grounds. We're also pet friendly, so you're welcome to bring your four-legged friends along. We are a working farm, with mostly cattle and sheep, so enjoy watching happy animals grazing and the local wildlife going about their day. The property is very well located to be a base camp for day trips throughout the southwest. Things to do in the local vicinity include plenty of options for walking, bike riding and horse trails, plus countless lakes including the nearby Deep Lake and Lake Ettrick (or Tooliorook) - both wonderful for swimming and stocked with fish. These lakes provide excellent opportunities for boating, water sports and fishing. There are also plenty of great local pubs and attractions, all within a short distance. The historic and charming Elephant Bridge Hotel is a short drive away in Darlington, offering meals in one of Victoria’s oldest continuously licensed venues. You can also find supplies just down the road at Derrinallum, or Lismore, which are each a mere few minutes drive away. A little further afield is friendly Camperdown, one of the best resources country towns in the region with dozens of eateries and activities aplenty for visitors.Welcome to wide open skies and expansive fields overlooking the remarkable Mt Elephant. Tent
Tranquil with so much space. Took a moment to identify the exact location with no Signage on the farm gate(perhaps a suggestion) Nice sheltered space from tree-line and visits from the Cattle were great. Beautiful starry sky when it cleared up

It certainly lives up to its name! Yep, it’s a paddock, but it’s quiet, the sky’s were clear and it wasn’t a crowded caravan park with screaming kids 👍😉 $29p/n is possibly a little high. The walk up Mt Elephant was really worth it but OMG 😨
