Black Dog Creek
Disappointing
There was nothing there, we had to gather our own wood, there was no signage
I know $40 is not very much in the grand scheme of things, but the least the hosts could do would be to greet us on arrival, direct us and provide some wood for a fire!
I paid $40 for a powered site in a caravan park
I have stayed for free beside the Murray river which was much nicer than a paddock at the back of someone’s shed
Disappointing

A Nice site. Not totally private but still lovely.

What a spot! Lovely secluded and flat area all to ourselves and the local sheep. Close enough yet far enough from Rutherglen and surrounding areas - perfect for riding bikes and hitting up a few wineries. Look forward to returning :)

If you are looking for somewhere to camp away from everyone this is a good spot.
The nice firepit is placed in such a spot so as to enable one to camp in any direction around it. There is plenty of shade if thats what you require or camp in the sunny area for your solar panels benefit.
Not far from Rutherglen... we enjoyed Pfieffers Muscat tasting immensely.
Thankyou HipHosts for sharing your land with us.

Black Dog Creek
Our trip coincided with an unusual March heatwave, with three consecutive days over 35 degrees. Initially apprehensive about our getaway, upon arrival, our concerns heightened as the summer drought had dried up the creek and dam, leaving limited shade at the campsite between 11 AM and 4 PM. However, to our delight, this secluded site proved to be a tranquil oasis, offering much-needed morning and afternoon shade, refreshing nightly breezes, and a picturesque old rail trail for leisurely walks. Moreover, the proximity to local attractions such as Lake Moodemere, Rutherglen, Corowa, and the Murray River provided welcome relief during the peak heat of the day. The hosts were exceptionally responsive to emails and delightful in person, generously providing a tour of the mill, delicious homemade hot cross buns, and the opportunity to purchase and cook their superb home-raised lamb meat. Overall, it was a fantastic weekend, and we wholeheartedly recommend this Hipcamp experience!

Black Dog Creek
Even though it was extremely hot, we still enjoyed a lovely weekend with our friends. The site was shaded in the mornings and from late afternoon and we went exploring the local area in the air conditioned cars during the heat of the day while the site was in the sun.
Courtney and Ian were very friendly hosts and we enjoyed two delicious meals of the farms home grown lamb and some beautiful hot crossed buns freshly baked using flour from their mill.
A very private site, it would be nice to return when there is some water running in the nearby creek.
