A New Favorite Hipcamp Discovery
Tent · With kids
I debated leaving a review because this place was incredible, and I wanted to keep it a secret. Of course, doing the right thing trumped my selfishness and here I am to let you know that you should go ahead and book a stay at AJ's property.
My son and I stayed at site 1. My 9-year-old boy wanted to have his own tent during this adventure and there was plenty of space to accommodate our setup.
The river was down a steep, but manageable decline. We easily carried our inflatable kayak and paddled around the river until the sun forced us to come ashore and eat lunch under the large oak(?) tree that provided necessary shade from the heat.
A couple was staying at site 2 and we only saw them two times while walking the expansive property. The property is beautiful and we watched the sunrise over the field while cows mooed in the distance.
Driving to the campsite is manageable if you take it slow. There are a few bumps once you get off the gravel road and onto the grass path to the camp location. If you go slow, I believe any car can navigate the path with ease.
Aj was an excellent host. He provided a comprehensive "Welcome Packet" that helped us navigate to our spot. He also responded quickly to a handful of questions I asked the night before our arrival.
Again, I highly recommend staying at AJs. I look forward to returning for a future visit.
