Welcome to our cabins in the woods at Villa Vida Loca, in beautiful Sunderland, Ontario! Our tiny cabins are tucked away in the woods on our gorgeous, private 10-acre property in the heart of North Durham. We offer a unique glamping experience with all the benefits of camping, but with a roof over your head, floor under your feet and super cool amenities. Please read our full listings before requesting a booking. If you’re unsure about something, just ask. We’re very laid back, approachable and inclusive people, and can’t wait to welcome you. Nearby We’re surrounded by Beaverton on Lake Simcoe, Port Perry on Lake Scugog and Uxbridge (the Trail Capital of Canada), which are a close driving distance away. Around the corner from us, the Beaver River Wetland Trail (part of the Trans Canada Trail) is the perfect place for a hike or bike ride. There’s lots of other exciting things to do and see in the surrounding areas – fabulous restaurants, breweries and wineries, top golf courses, beaches, fishing, watersports, agri-tourism experiences, events and more. Upon your arrival, we’ll provide you with an up-to-date list of recommendations based on the season.

Such a great stay!

Had such a good time here! Wonderful couple. They have a beautiful property and the dogs are adorable too! Definitely try their bbq brisket in the morning. And the eggs were so fresh! Highly recommend!

Cabaña de Amor (The Love Shack)

This camping experience was fantastic! I don’t know where to begin… the love shack was impeccably cleaned and the bed was super comfy. There were extra blankets, a fan for warmer days and a heater for cooler nights. The coffee maker was essential and gave us a mornings ritual we looked forward to. The chairs on the deck with glass railing allowed us to enjoy our coffee with unobstructed views. We were close to the main house for any questions we had for our hosts but entirely secluded and private. The trail out back gave our dog an off leash experience he still dreams about. Less than 10 minutes and we were at a turquoise watered quarry. When we didn’t want to go far, we played badminton, went swimming in the pool at the main house, and a hot tub in the evenings. We were there on weekdays so didn’t get to experience the dining options but we could visit the market! We sampled natural, raw honey from their beehives and we bought tons of local items like homemade granol and hot sauces! There really were so many options for how you wanted to spend your day! It was definitely a camping experience and not a cottage experience - outhouse and all. But they had an outdoor shower and sink (with hot water) that made it extra easy for first-time “campers”.

This was such a beautiful clamping experience. Tucked away on a farm property was this little cabin and it was very quiet. there's enough space to roam around, as well as a pool and a hot tub. The washroom is an outhouse. They also have have a beautiful dog on the property that came and greeted us.

Loved everything about this place. Host is awesome! market is super cool, bbq available on weekends. Honestly….. quite the gem. We will definitely be returning soon.

Cabaña de Amor (The Love Shack)

A Little Piece of Heave

We absolutely adored our weekend getaway at Cabaña de Amor! Ann and Brian were amazing hosts who were very friendly and extroverted yet gave us all the privacy in the world. We felt unbelievably welcomed and at home during our stay. The cabin was beautiful and the site was large, clean and private with all the amenities we could ever ask for. The nearby trails were enjoyed for daily walks and the food at their smoke house is unbelievable. Beautiful crafts at the Villa Vida Loca Farmers market right on the property and the free range chickens and honey bees were super cool to interact with. Took full advantage of the pool and hot tub which we had to ourselves and which helped to make the overall experience extremely romantic and peaceful. Can't forget the dogs. The two pooches were wonderful, friendly and really warmed up to us. We absolutely cannot wait to come back for more stays at the Cabaña! Thank you for a wonderful experience Ann and Brian!

Brian and Ann were very welcoming and helpful hosts. The cabin was absolutely beautiful and clean. The smokehouse offered delicious food and the farm market is amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and plan on coming back!
