This is scenic 150 acre farm is surrounded by forest overlooking Rice Lake. It's a lovely private place with lots of nearby opportunities for watersports and exploration. Warsaw caves are a short drive away. The Indian and Otonabee rivers are great for paddling, swimming and fishing, as is Rice Lake! There are some great spots to eat and shop just a few minutes away. Come and discover this lovely area!This is a drive to bell tent with a separate screened-in kitchen area with a 6 seat picnic table and bbq. It's a very private location with no visible neighbours. There is an outhouse nearby which is shared with one other tent. A forest trail for walking in the 30 acre woods starts just beside it. The site is surrounded by pines with a view over Rice Lake. An outdoor shower will keep you fresh. You're likely to see deer and many birds on your stay.

Camping with 2 kids

We really enjoyed this camping experience. It's so peaceful & was great to arrive and have everything set up for you. The host was very prompt at responding to all my messages & very pleasant to deal with. The outdoor shower was not working as apparently not enough water in the well. This was dissapointing but the outhouse toilet was nicely done. There was plenty of cooking / kitchen supplies & a decent BBQ. I loved that there were battery packs for charging phones as well as a flashlight & lanterns provided. There was bedding also provided but we took our own. It would have been good to know ahead of time that there were 2 cot beds available as we went and purchased air beds for the kids specifically for this trip which we didnt need to do. The main queen bed was really comfy and the tent was dry and comfortable. It could use a better clean though. I swept it out myself on arrival. The advertisement post said there were views over Rice lake which there is not at all. I did not even see a glimpse of the lake as the trees have grown since the pictures posted. You are surrounded with beautiful trees and fields though & it really was a nice experience for my kids. I do not believe it was the best value for money. I ended up playing close to $200 with cleaning fees & service fees etc. I don't think it was worth that amount considering I took my own bedding and swept it all out myself. I would consider charging a lower rate like $90 a night base rate for what is actually offere

The owner never replied to messages and the site paths were poorly marked and maintained. No water in the outdoor shower reservoir, which was a big part of what drew me to this site. My young daughter and I luckily brought potable water, because that was not available either. It has potential to be amazing but it is unfortunately not as advertised.
