Purchased in 1989, this small piece of heaven was developed by Peter & Suelaine Poot into a home for their family and beginning in 2004, a welcoming alpaca farm.  The bush area has been used for camping by many local and visiting scouting groups over the years.  In 2021, we joined Hip Camp and now allow others to enjoy the beauty, peace, and challenges of camping in our bush. The alpacas are a peaceful herd to watch as they graze their way through the day. Crias (baby alpacas), love to pronk and play in the pastures near their mothers. During May you may observe us shearing the alpacas.  June is the birthing and breeding month.  They birth quickly, so watch carefully.  Tours of the farm with explanations of the fibre harvest process and opportunites to walk the alpacas are available to be booked through our website.

Great family fun!
Beautiful property, adorable alpacas and wonderful hosts. Thank you for being so kind and allowing my family to help with feeding the animals. My kids absolutely loved the farm dog!

What a find!
Really excellent spot! Peaceful, felt remote. Beautiful native trees, great area for the tent and fire. Firewood available is a huge tote of dried hardwood. Sun coming theough the trees in the morning is gorgeous. Also, ton of really happy alpacas in the fields. Looking forward to our next visit.

Site 2 The Lane
Pootcorners was an amazing place to visit and camp for the night. Suelaine was kind, professional and great with our kids! She let us help feed the alpacas and walk and weigh the babies. What a memory for the family. The portapotty was clean but right next to the alpacas and definitely not private. It was right next to our site 2, the Lane, and the group of campers in the other site came to use it frequently. It wasn’t an issue but just describing the details. The place we parked was more or less just that - a place to park - but it was immediately next to the alpacas and it was so fun to sit and stare at them. They were very kind and curious when we were at the fence admiring them. We made a nice fire with their wood and we had access to a hose for rinsing and cleaning. I would definitely recommend this unique and lovely hip camp!

Peaceful Campsite
We loved camping at Suelaine's camp site. It was nice and cozy with a lot of space and area to play games, hang out with friends and have a bonfire. Seeing the Alpacas every morning was a a great and a unique experience. The place is very peaceful so you can spend quality time with family and friends. There is a town nearby if you need any supplies. Suelaine and Peter were very kind and accomodating. I highly reccomend this site to anyone looking to book a private camp site.

Great spot with kids
Great space, very friendly hosts and perfect for kids! Our spot at The Loop was very spacious, level and offers hookups for water and electrical if needed. The hosts were great explaining everything to the kids and very helpful with everything and beyond. There's a swing and trampoline in the backyard but the retriever was the best entertainment for the kids anyway! The kids are already asking when we'll go back to Sulaine and Peter! Thanks for the lovely stay!
