100 acre property outside of Gorrie ON Maitland river campground has 6 listings with structure and lots of space for tents and trailers! Maitland river runs through the property and a spring fed pond is steps away for swimming and relaxing in the sand. There is no electricity, water or wifi at this site as it is at the back of the property

Cardinals Nest

Camping along the mainland river !

Everything from the scenic drive to walking up to the cabin was beautiful! Sitting on rolling hills on a bank of the Maitland River this private cabin was beyond what we expected even in the winter it was a great adventure ending with a hot tub in the snow ! Scenic walking trails and the sound of the rushing River made it feel we were in the middle of the wilderness, We will definitely be returning to the cardinals nest as soon as we can !

The Crows Nest

Beautiful, private, affordable

We drove up from Hamilton and this site was 100% worth the drive. A secluded and beautiful camp site set back on their land with a gorgeous, large canvas tent. The highlights are many: - 8.5/10 for camping sleeps thanks to the well-cushioned and setup bed (styrofoam, pallets, and then the mattress) and quickly warming tent even from just our body heat. Can only imagine how toasty it could get with actual heating inside - the extra details inside the tent with the two cushioned seats, cute chairs & table, simple utensils & dishes, washing supplies, a small charcoal bbq - the fairy lights were both cute and functional! They lit the interior of the tent and the entrance with ease - the nearby river is gorgeous and adds so much atmosphere while walking the grounds - clear and quick communication (and so helpful!) when you message the hosts; they are on it! - the wildlife is plentiful and the landscape picturesque. Enjoy it. - though we didn’t use it, the swimming hole on the grounds is cute and cosy Any bits we could ask for would be cherries on the cake. Keep in mind that the port-a-potty is bit of a walk away from the site, so keep that in mind for your needs. All-I’m-all, we loved our stay and would love to come again!

The Ravens Nest

Lovely river view

Wonderful little site, right on the bank of the river. Quiet. Peaceful. Lots of wild life to see.
