Welcome to The Outside Inn - where you can comfortably enjoy your own private piece of paradise on the Mighty Madawaska River! No-effort camping in five private and furnished wall tents each overlooking and only a few feet away from the Madawaska River. Save hundreds of dollars - canoes, firewood, propane, charcoal, drinking water, power and much more all included! Bring only your food, drink and sleeping bags! Fully-equipped kitchen cabin with fridge and sink, Bathroom Cabin with 2 flush toilets, hot shower, and sink, Tiki Hut with 2 gas bbqs and one charcoal bbq, clean drinking water, central power, floating swimming dock, pure sand beach, rope swing, volleyball court, hammocks, fire pit, picnic tables, etc... - you will not be roughing it! Just downstream from Palmer Rapids and the famous Paddler Co-op, and just upstream from the Lower Madawaska Provincial Park - a hidden gem of world-class whitewater! You might even want to add a 2-3 day canoe trip onto the end of your stay. Only one group at a time means you have the place to yourself - whether you're a single family or a large group. The Outside Inn sleeps 10 comfortably and 18 cozily. Although this is still a camping experience, we've tried to make it as easy as possible for you with a fully equipped kitchen cabin including a sink with hot/cold running potable water, fridge/freezer, plates, bowls, mugs, eating and cooking utensils, pots, pans, Keurig coffee maker, electric kettle, sugar, salt, pepper, oil, etc... The Tiki Hut overlooking the beach includes a solar charging station, 3 barbeques (2 gas, 1 charcoal) as well as all fuel and grilling utensils. The Bathroom Cabin has two real flush toilets, hot/cold shower and sink area with running potable water. Water and power is available centrally at the kitchen and bathroom cabins (but not at the tents). Looking forward to seeing you on the river soon! Scott, Gabrielle and family!The Outside Inn hosts only one group at a time, wo you will have the whole place to yourselves. The tents, facilities and beach are nicely spread out along 1000 feet of elevated and beautiful Madawaska Riverbank separated from neighboring properties by dense forest, giving you a sense of complete privacy. The property is generally quiet, but you may occasionally hear equipment from the farm across the river, a truck passing on a nearby road, or fishing boat on the river. You can get a sense of the property location from the satellite view in the photo gallery (property outlined in red) Five furnished canvas wall tents are spaced discretely along the riverbank, each just a few feet from the river. Four tents have a pair of bunkbeds (sleep 4), while one tent just has a single bunkbed (sleeps 2). All tents are planned for double occupancy (10 total), but top bunks can provide for quadruple occupancy when needed (18 total). All beds include mattresses with fitted sheets and fluffy non-allergenic pillows in cases. Bottom bunks have traditional, thicker mattresses while top bunks have thinner camping mattresses. Each tent has a small covered verandah with chair, as well as screened windows and doors for ventilation, as well as canvas flaps for privacy and more warmth on cooler nights. There is no power/water at the tents themselves (so bring flashlights) but there is power and hot/cold running potable water (filtered and from a deep, drilled well) centrally located at the kitchen and bathroom cabins. We've tried to help make your stay here as easy as possible - we'd call it turn-key camping except there aren't any locks! Just unzip your tent and start relaxing right away. All the campfire wood, barbeque gas, charcoal and canoes, paddles and life-jackers are included with your stay! The only thing you need to bring are your sleeping bags, food and drink.
