"Hey, remember when we visited those really friendly people on a farm about an hour from Toronto? You know, they also had horses, chickens and a donkey. That was one of the best nights we've ever had, sitting around the fire and watching that sunset - AHmazing! Let's book another night there. HECK - let's bring the trailer and book a weekend!"*NOMINATED "BEST HIPCAMP RV SPOT IN CANADA" AND FEATURED ON BREAKFAST TELEVISION*
100 Acres Of Privacy - Inspirational View - Friendly Animals - Forests - Fields - Wildlife - Trails - Nearby Waterfall - Sunsets - Large Campfire Pit - Exhale.....
Only an hour from Toronto, Hill Run Farm overlooks the beautiful hills of Caledon and fields of gold, green, or sometimes white. Lush maple forests surround our 100-acre farm and there are numerous hidden gems to visit in the area. (Art Galleries, Craft Breweries, Hiking Trails, Rivers, Quaint Cafés, Antique Markets, Spas, Golf Courses, Lavender Farms, Apple Orchards, and some of the most popular cycling circuits in Ontario.)
Enter our private driveway, then with plenty of room to turn around, pull right up beside the 60 foot Scandinavian Fir trees and park your RV or trailer just steps away from your private fire-pit and campground area. Shade, sunshine and shelter from the wind - your campground has it all. And the mosquitoes are pretty minimal compared to camping in the bush.
Sleeping in a tent? You'll be hard pressed to find an outdoor camping area with a better view as you lay your head down on your pillow and gaze out across the flat grassy lawn with the sunsetting over the valley right in front of you. Our horses will keep you company as the Big Dipper watches over you at night.
But before you settle in for the evening, you could head out for a comfortable 50-minute walk (or a 15-min BYO bike ride) to a raging waterfall at the end of the Elora-Cataract Trail. Or just stay put and explore our shorter on-site trail. You might even want to walk down the road and try your hand at fishing (catch and release) in a pristine, spring fed river.
There are some really unique places in the area to enjoy a friendly meal, or talk to us about using our BBQ for the evening and keep the camping experience going. (The grocery store is only a 9-minute drive from the farm.)
We'll personally introduce you to our large, Swiss Warmblood horses (Monster and Viola) and their two miniature-horse friends (Sugar and Kiwi). Our miniature donkey might even Grace us with her presence. Don't forget to bring some apples or carrots for your new friends! And our 20+ chickens love visitors.
Finally... the real decompression begins. Grab your favourite beverage and catch a stunning sunset on the grassy bank beside our massive wooden barn, built in the 1800's.
Then... the evening fire pit is all yours. We even provide complimentary wood for your first campfire. (Talk to us about the possibility of enjoying other fires and accessing our limited supply of firewood. Or bring your own.) If you're patient, you'll likely hear the coyotes howling off in the distance. And if you look up long enough, you'll probably catch a shooting star whizzing across the universe above you. Tranquility...
And for breakfast, the local cafe is only a 3-minute drive into the tiny hamlet of Belfountain OR you could even stroll down the beautiful country roads (aprox. 30 min walk) to enjoy your specialty coffee and homemade breakfast or pastries right on the patio!
We are country people who live simply and simply live! We've travelled the world and love meeting new people - like YOU! Happy to fill you in on all the best spots that us locals go to - and then we'll step back and give you your privacy. So come to Hill Run Farm - and exhale.......

*We breed Australian Shepherds. They'll be inside their large fenced in yard during the day and inside our house between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM. They will only have free run of the farm when you are off property. There will be some barking as they get used to seeing new humans arriving on the farm, but we will do our best to make sure they don't impact your stay during your quieter times. Like while you're sitting around the campfire at night, or sleeping. We love our animals, but we also love our guests!
**Our Roosters are pretty, but get up before anyone else does in order to primp and style themselves for the chicks. We highly recommend bringing earplugs if you're not an early morning person.
