All to yourself
100% of recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp felt private.
The 1 acre site is nestled and hidden away at the end of a private road, in the forest, next to ancient Canadian Shield rockfaces, on a pristine clean lake in the Madawaska Highlands. The shoreline is left natural with a floating dock. Swimming, fishing and kayaking is excellent.
We are surrounded by hundreds of acres of crown land with an extensive path network reaching up to Foymount, the highest elevation in Southern Ontario.
Killaloe is the closest town and Brudenell, a logging ghosttown, off the beaten path, is being rediscovered for its quaint beauty.
Near Eganville, Foymount, Barrys Bay, Algonquin Park, BancroftThe 27ft very clean RV is fully equipped with everything you need. Full kitchen, bathroom with shower, bedding, BBQ, deck with seating area, firepit and wood, there is one canoe and two kayaks, lifejackets. The lake is a marvel, paddle to the Southend and see for yourself. Brudenell, a former watering hole and gambling town for loggers and lumberjacks is now a 'Ghosttown' that is rediscovered for its charm. Al Capone discovered the Letterkenny years ago and used it as a hide out. Foymount, an abandonned Cold War Military Post fits right in and is worth a visit. A Starwatchers delight! We are close to the challenging bicycle route "The Monarch" and just up the road from Quadeville and other quaint villages in the area along the winding roads. Old barns, farmhouses, stonefences, logcabins in the hills, on lakes, rocky lands, swampy bogs and old forests add to the reputation of these forgotten lands. But now younger generations are venturing back to these lands, and offer their varied skills in art, farming, crafting of all sorts at charming markets, survival skills and much more. Leave the busy citylife behind and explore, find pure nature and do some forest bathing refreshing mind and soul....
