You will find our campground amongst the rugged precambrian rocks and windswept pines on the shores of Stoney Lake, the crown jewel of the Kawarthas. Immerse yourself in the wilderness of our pinery sites, or experience the tranquility of our lakeside sites. Enjoy the pristine water as you relax on our private sandy beach or launch a boat to explore the lake’s hundreds of beautiful islands. Stoney Lake is known for its excellent fishing and is home to large populations of bass, walleye, and muskie. Petroglyph Provincial Park, located right across the street is a sacred Indigenous site with the largest known concentration of aboriginal rock carvings in Canada. Explore the excellent hiking trails the park has to offer or visit McGinnis Lake, one of few meromictic lakes in North America. At the end of each day the lullaby of the northern loon will call through the cool night air as you drift off to sleep. We can’t wait to share our place with you!

Will be returning!

We loved this site! We booked 2 but some people ended up not coming so we only used one site but it was a great experience! Owners are so nice and would be a fantastic camp for people with kids!

Stoney Lake Pinery Campsite #1

Great Birthday Weekend!

My friends and I stayed on Pinery 1 campsite for the weekend and had a great time! Check in was super quick and easy. Firewood was available for $20 and it was a large tote bin full. Everything is a quick walk from the site. The beach was beautiful and had chairs set up which showed that they pay attention to detail. The bathrooms were clean and well kept which was refreshing in comparison to some of the other comfort stations we’ve seen. The seasonal trailer owners were super friendly and loved chatting with us! Fishing on the lake was nice too, lots of bass. A fish hut was close by which was convenient! Boat rentals, horseshoes and a playground were available although we did not use them. This spot was a great combination of private and convenient. If I were to provided any helpful critiques I would recommend cutting some trees down around the entrance to the site as a truck with a canoe on the roof is a tight squeeze and to repaint the shower walls. Overall it was a fabulous trip and I would come back again.

Stoney Lake Pinery Campsite #1

Great site, lots of space and tree coverage. Camp hosts are helpful and lent us lifejackets that we forgot. Lake is nice and beach is safe for small kids. If you book pinery 1&2 it’s private. Would recommend.

Stoney Lake Rock View Campsite

First camping trip a success.

We had an amazing time! This was our first camping experience and enjoyed every minute. The kids loved the playground, which was far better than I imagined. And the beach was a definite hit. We will be back and next time bringing more family and friends with us to experience.

Family Friendly

Wonderful clean family friendly campsite. Great place to get away not far from the city. The whole family had a wonderful time. I loved that our son could go park or beach and have the best time because our campsite was so close. You should check this place out!
