Guests can explore a few acres of brook and forest and gaze across the wetland behind the property. Lots of cool birds back there! While the location off the main road means a bit of car noise, the cabin and land are set back and surrounded by green, trees and wildlife. We also keep ducks, and the rewilding of the land means there's lots of natural action to watch for.The Little Cabin is set back into the meadow, away from the main house. It borders a brook on one side, and a small spruce Grove behind. The cabin is a low energy with a small solar array, rainwater, wood heat. Designed and built carefully by us, the Cabin is a low footprint building made with all natural, mostly local and salvaged materials. There is an upstairs bedroom in the loft with a queen bed, accessed by stairs. There are basics for a comfortable stay while exploring the South Shore and a cosy reset close to town.

Sweet Little Cabin
The Perfect Getaway
This cabin is so wonderful! It was build very thoughtfully and with a lot of love. The layout of the cabin is very functional amd will have you wishing you didn't have to leave. Our host, Kate, was also super helpful and laid back so we felt instantly at ease. The cabin is nestled in the trees just at the edge of a clearing on the back part of the property and feels very private. We were able to drive right up to the front door in our old toyota echo so I'm pretty sure any other vehicle would have no problem. If it's not a cloudy night, checknout the stars! The amenities were great too! The semi outdoor shower was HOT! On demand propane hot water is amazing. The woodstove and cooktop inside were great too and the vintage ice box was super cute! Also, the location is fantastic if you want to spend a few days visiting the surrounding area. We were only there one night and we were able to have dinner in LaHave, see the Bluebose II, go to the marine fisheries museum, checked out Mahone Bay, went to Hirtles beach, hiked the trail at the end of the beach and drive around looking at all the beautiful old wooden houses, dreaming about living by the sea. Definitely a great home base for all your south shore adventures. I'm sure we'll be back!
