A prospector tent with queen sized bed just set back from the ocean. A great place to launch a kayak from or a cozy sleep 10 mins away from good surf. There’s also unserviced camping area and a shady place to park a can or small RV. We operate it from the website as a bed and breakfast, but will book (at a discount, obvs) as a room with no food service off of hipcamp.The nice tent is set back from the ocean just enough to cut the wind with a queen sized bed, composting toilet, fire pit, propane bbq, outdoor kitchen and indoor and outdoor seating. We aim to make so that you can show up with nothing but your clothes and be comfortable. It’s a great site for a couple where one of you isn’t AS into roughing it.

The Nice Tent

Warm, wonderful winter camping!

Camping on Erik’s land was an absolute delight! Erik is a fantastic host—extremely communicative, accommodating, and a pleasure to chat with in person. The campsite itself is a gem, nestled in a serene forest clearing. The centerpiece is a well-crafted setup: a spacious canvas tent stretched over a sturdy wooden frame, complete with a firewood stove, chimney, and fireproof flooring that doubles as insulation. Nearby, there’s a convenient outhouse and a fully equipped cooking station, stocked with pans, tools, and a small gas stove. At night, the magic truly comes alive. The minimal light pollution allows for breathtaking views of the night sky, and the peaceful atmosphere is broken only by the occasional rustle of wildlife or the whisper of the wind—no road noise, just nature at its finest. We camped in December, braving temperatures that dropped to -10°C. Thanks to the stove, we stayed incredibly cozy, even shedding extra layers as the warmth filled the tent. The site is about a 2-3 minute hike from the parking area, which is manageable as long as you pack in bags instead of bulky totes. This was an amazing experience, and we’re already planning our next visit. Highly recommend! Thank you, Erik, for such a memorable stay!

The Nice Tent

Woodsy Adventure

Erik's tent was comfortable and warm in mid September. We didn't even have to use the wood stove with temperatures at 12 degrees overnight. The queen size bed was just the same - comfortable and warm - with a thick soft comforter that worked so well we didn't have to use the sleeping bag we brought with us. Our two dogs loved the adventure in the woods and we enjoyed our cook out on the propane stove provided with all of the necessary pots, pans, dishes, and cutlery provided. With a glass of wine and can of beer in hand we relaxed by the fire pit until bedtime and had a quiet and peaceful night's sleep. Very nice!
