Only 4.5 kms from the Kings Highway lies this idyllic property where John and Pippa have built their rural home, keep goats, chickens and grow their own vegetables. Once part of a huge thriving farmstead with lots of local history, a secret Bushrangers grave and scattered gold deposits are rumoured to be hidden amongst the snow gums. Descendants of the original landowners still live in nearby Heritage listed Braidwood. We have 104 acres of beautiful and varied terrain with fabulous rolling views. During your stay enjoy our amazing bird life, kangaroos, wallabies, possibly echidnas, rosenburgs, wombats and even deer. Guests are required to be fully self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure. Campfires are welcome permitting there are no restrictions in place at the time of your stay. This is the ideal location to just relax and enjoy nature at its finest. On a clear night the stars are amazing. We are only an hour from Canberra situated halfway between the picturesque towns of Braidwood and Bungendore, both within 20 mins away. Highly Recommended
We loved camping at The Ridge. The property is immaculate with lots of birdlife and other animals. The walk with John and the goats was a definite highlight and we recommend ordering the bread as it was delicious. We will definitely return in the future.

The Bread... and not a bad spot!!
Loved the space at The Ridge. The peace was fantastic and John was lovely. Get the bread if you have the chance and enjoy it warm in the morning sun. Lovely little walks and not far from Canberra so was a great place to stop. Will def be back and bring the Defender for John! Cheers Paul and Eisha.

Pippa and John made us feel super welcome. It was not just a camping site, everything about the stay was warm and welcoming. From the fresh warm bread, to the carton of eggs, the goat walk and the chats, everything was incredible and we will definitely be returning.

The best bread!
There’s plenty of lovely things to say about this place, which I have done in a previous review. But a highlight is the homemade bread they make! Phenomenal! Make sure you get some - it’s well worth it

Beautiful view , peace and quiet
Beautiful campground , nice grassy ( mowed ) area with 🔥 fireplace and table and chairs . Lots of wildlife too , peaceful and quiet , lots of walking and exploring. Little river with swimming spots . The goat walk was lovely and informative ( thanks John 😊 ) ! We loved our stay very much , hosts ( pippa and John ) very welcoming! Thanks so much , we had a great time 😊 see you again ! Paradise
A beautiful piece of paradise. View of subalpine terrain was amazing with splendid sunsets and wonderful star shows. Abundant bird life and spoiled with nightly visits from gang gang cockatoos. The built in fire pit was well used and perfect. John and Pippa were generous hosts. Highlight was a walk with John and the goats who were cheeky and adorable. We also booked the fresh bread option and weren’t disappointed - YUM!
