Hacketts Haven is our 68 acre property, located near Copmanhurst which boasts your own exclusive panoramic view overlooking the Clarence River. The site is approximately 14 metres clear/elevated from the river (which makes it very safe if the river was to rise above minor or moderate flooding). A truly unique camping experience overlooking the wide spanse of the Clarence only a short distance from the small village of Copmanhurst, perfect for a group booking of up to 20. Enjoy your own private site with a sandy beach @40m below site, east of the Copmanhurst boat ramp. Take a walk down the steepish soft sandy cattle tracks to the waters edge and enjoy yourself. Note: Sand can be very hot! Obedient dogs permitted and that they are on a lead or under control with livestock or cattle dogs around. No amenities so campers need to BYO everything they need and leave no trace. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place - check with host. NOTE: No treated wood to be brought or burnt on the property The Rest Point Hotel sells bags of firewood. As per Hipcamp guidelines, be fire safe, dispose of garbage responsibly and leave no trace. The grass is left lush for the roaming cattle to enjoy, however we will endeavour to slash the 40+ acres and/or whipper-snip around firepits when possible. The property is perfectly cared for and absolutely picturesque. Imagine lush green paddocks that ease onto the beautiful Clarence River. It is the swimming spot of our dreams! We took our tinny as the river is quite big in this area and there is a public boat ramp about 300m upstream. The host was easy to communicate with and very helpful. Wayne left a review on January 7th, 2021 We parked our camper trailer up on the banks of the Clarence River and enjoyed the panoramic views and the quiet seclusion - only [pleasantly] interrupted by the very friendly and inquisitive cows. Could not have asked for a better experience. Plenty of things to do - day trips to Grafton/Maclean/Yamba/Broomes Head - and the Clarence Gorge - as well as canoeing down the Clarence River. The site was very private and well looked after. We absolutely loved it. Had a few swims, chatted to some cows and watched an eagle circle right over us. Great swimming, great scenery and wonderful location. Peaceful piece of paradise not to far from Grafton and at the doorstep of Copmanhurst. After a few days cooking on the camp fire we decided to walk 1km to the pub for dinner. We will return to this property for sure. Host was awesome and kept in touch with us prior to arriving due to covid, sms us on arrival and then on our departure to wish us safe travels. 10 out of 10. Got my workout walking down to the river and back but totally worth it The site is described exactly as advertised so if you are camping (ie can't level it out) be prepared as the site is lumpy and bumpy. Enjoy @ 150 m length of your own camping area (@6+ acres worth) with a Clarence river frontage, which boasts a sandy beach @40m below site, east of the Copmanhurst boat ramp. Please note there is no amenities, BYO everything. As per Hipcamp guidelines, be fire safe, dispose of garbage responsibly and leave no trace. The grass is left lush for the roaming cattle to enjoy, however we will endeavour to slash the 40+ acres and/or wipper snip around firepits when possible. Price is for 2 people. Additional campers are $10 each, per night (total max is 20). Note: There may be a slight price increase for NSW Christmas school holidays. *Additionally do not include children under 5 as extras. After booking, please read the arrival instructions for directions to the property. An additional satellite pic/mud map will also be provided. Firepit. Bags of firewood for sale, however cannot deliver on short notice, see extras. We ask that if you bring your own wood to burn that it is not treated pine. Its a good idea to bring kindling as there isn't much laying around. Note: There is two firewood rings/pits at either end of the dispersed camping areas, you can choose to use either.

Pets allowed

Off leash. Dogs are to be in view of owner at all times and on a leash when cattle or our working dogs are around. Please pick up after dog in camping and walking areas. Please allow cattle to go about their business (drinking river water and grazing) without interference. Dogs to be fully innoculated and wise to have preventative treatment for ticks and fleas.

Bring your own water, purify from river or stream. River is good at present however with any decent rain in the Clarence catchment, the river will fluctuate between brown and clear. This hasn't deterred any campers thus far, but just a recommendation to have a good supply of your own drinking water.

Had a great stay. Extremely helpful host, especially with the weather issues. Ensured we could still access the property with all the rain and checked in that we were all doing ok. Fantastic spot and a great private river access. Also a huge thumbs up to the team at The Rest Point Family Hotel

Amazing place to stay, great communication with Larissa, felt very welcome on their property, definitely coming back again and would recommend to anyone, kids loved it there swimming in the river and having the cows wondering around just made it a great spot, thankyou Larissa.
