Come rest, relax, and rejuvenate in our cozy yurt, or bring your own tent and camp on our serene 50-acre wooded property. With over 300 acres of adjoining state parkland behind us and the expansive 13,000-acre Pisgah State Park just across the street, the hiking trails are truly endless. For your convenience, an incineration toilet is located near the campsites, and a full bathroom with a hot shower is available on-site. Escape into nature and unwind in this peaceful, forested retreat!Secluded yurt nestled in the woods, featuring a cozy queen bed, wood stove, and a 2-burner cook stove with all the essential cooking utensils. Inside, you'll also find a table with two chairs, while outside, a spacious deck awaits with Adirondack chairs for relaxing among the trees. A nearby fire pit with additional seating and a grill provides the perfect setup for cooking over an open flame. For convenience, an incinerator toilet is located nearby, and a full bathroom is available at the base of the entrance. The yurt is tucked away in a serene forest setting, accessible by a 4-wheel drive vehicle during good weather. In inclement conditions, a short walk or hike of approximately 100-150 yards will be required.

The Riley (Our Beloved Chocolate)
Shannon's yurt was the perfect place to spend a rainy day. The photos on the listing are accurate. The wood stove kept us warm all day & night. (At the time of writing, they start you out with some wood for the stove and then you pay $8 a bundle after that.) The skylight at the top was all the light we needed for most of the day. And there is a state park with trails right across the street!! The food prep/cook situation was similar to car camping - a coleman double burner stove, some plates/cups, some utensils, a pan or two. If you have specific prep needs, I suggest communicating with Shannon beforehand so you all can figure out if they can provide it or you oughta bring it. Shannon was very helpful and communicative! Everything we needed, she was able to help us out, including finding the house, which was a little tricky. It's not stated on the listing, and I think it's helpful to know: you will need a 4wd or all wheel drive vehicle to drive up to the yurt, especially during any precipitation or icy conditions. We did not have that so we parked at the bottom and walked up the hill - somewhere between 50 and 100 yards. *This site is not ADA accessible* Highly recommend Shannon's yurt if you have no accessibility needs and are down for a low amenity glamping situation!! I would definitely love to return!!
