Pitch your tent and listen to the waves of Sturgeon Bay on Lake Michigan. Fantastic Sunsets. Located half way between Harbor Springs and Mackinaw City. Walking distance to famous Legs Inn in Cross Village, MI. The property currently includes 8 campsites with a board walk on the east portion of the Lake side portion of the property to access the Lake MI Beach.
This is the 3rd year we've camped at this location. Unfortunately they have expanded to several more spots taking the seclusion and charm away a tad. Its a great spot don't get me wrong, but for the camper that wants a great spot without a lot of traffic unfortunately this is slowly outgrowing that magic. Perhaps it was the time of year because of the trail of trees and the color changing. We laughed, but a random dog and owner came through the camp and the dog bit my boyfriend. I don't blame the dog though, he was just surprised to see our pups. We did leave a wooden christmas box we found on the side of the road to house wood to keep dry. And hopefully new campers get a kick out of it.... enjoy the use or burn it in a wood emergency lmao. The place will always be special to us, but the traffic is picking up there. Just be aware. Also no one ever serviced the portapotty our entire visit and the other campers kept using all my tp. Just a tad frustrating. I'm glad we went nevertheless.... things just change.
The site was beautiful, and Million$ Sunset is absolutely correct. We took the short boardwalk over a small lagoon to watch the sunset, and stayed out to later stargaze and find comet Tsuchinshan-Atlas. Highly recommend the site; the grounds and adjoining public access area were clean and well maintained. The only drawback was other campers themselves. The Little Traverse Bay Band has modest rules and expectations of campers---please follow them, for the comfort and well-being of everyone that shares the space!!!! When we arrived at site 1, prior campers had burned trash, bottles and cans in and around the fire ring, which we cleaned up and removed. At one of the other nearby sites campers played a radio from the time we arrived in the afternoon through midnight, maybe all night, as it was going at 7 am all morning until we left. Highly recommend the site. Thank you Little Traverse Bay Band, for sharing your space with us. Other campers, clean up your act, and follow the rules, as you would wish others to do for your comfort and enjoyment at a site you paid to peacefully experience.
The sites here are private and secluded with a great view of the lake. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves is so relaxing!
