Enjoy the comforts of home—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
Explore the Pahoehoe lava of Mauna Loa or watch the incredible night sky for shooting stars. This one-of-kind camping trip is definitely an adventure.
Located at 4500’, our family homestead boasts incredible sunrise, sunsets and star gazing! Enjoy some ocean views, dynamic lava formations and young gardens on this unusual property. Practice Yoga above the clouds or bbq under the stars. We provide fresh eggs from our coop!
Please note: You will need a vehicle! The “Fleetwood Shack” is a 1979 vintage slide-in pop-up camper- originally from my hometown in Montana. It’s cute and quaint with everything you need for a camping adventure! Now resting on a cement foundation, this camp site has an outhouse with flushing toilet, propane hot water shower and solar powered lights with usb outlets and power strip for device charging.
The kitchenette features a mini refrigerator, two burner propane stove and all the basics for cooking and eating camp meals or fire up the bbq outside.
The camper will be furnished with 2 sleeping bags or sheets and blankets (the sun dictates the laundry around here), pillow cases, and kitchen and bath towels. We provide flashlights and other camping essentials including a 5 gal drinking water jug.
Life on the volcano is always an adventure and the weather can add to the excitement, so you’ll want to bring a few warm clothes and sturdy shoes. There is a propane heater in the camper that we can help you light if needed.
Please note: This is a remote location, some cell phones may struggle to get service. There is no wifi. Lava can be difficult to walk on; this adventure is not recommended for people with limited mobility.
