We are a community supported agriculture farm that uses a blend of modern technology with organic farming practices to feed over 120 family's fresh vegetables and herbs. We offer camping space with electricity and bathroom facilities available. Your children will love our two friendly, playful Australian sheepdogs May and Lily. You are just 5 miles from grocery stores and shopping, but we have the feel of being in the country. Beaches, State Parks with springs and all the central Florida attractions are within an hours drive or less. You are free to roam the fields and select vegetables and herbs to prepare in your meals or you can take a stroll in beautiful downtown DeLand and take in a nice meal. We offer camping space with electricity and bathroom facilities available. Your children will love our two friendly, playful Australian sheepdogs May and Lily. 4 Camp sites are set at the back of the property under oak trees. Bathroom and cooking amenities are less then 2 minutes from sites. You are just 5 miles from grocery stores and shopping, but we have the feel of being in the country. Beaches, State Parks with springs and all the central Florida attractions are within an hour drive or less. You are free to roam the fields and select vegetables and herbs to prepare in your meals or you can take a stroll in beautiful downtown DeLand (recently voted best downtown in America) and take in a nice meal. A few things to note. 1. Cumber site is large enough for tent camping only. 2. We allow only one vehicle per campsite but there is additional parking at the front of the property about 250 feet from the sites. 3. No open fires are permitted at the campsite due to the proximity of the greenhouses. We do have a screened in fire pit that is free to use. 4. If at all possible, please no check-ins after 11 p.m. This is a working farm, and we have to get up early. If you absolutely cannot get here by then let us know in advance and we will work with you. 5. NO RV"S OR FIFTH WHEELS! We do not have 30amp electric service and the sites were not designed for large vehicles. Pop up campers and vans are ok as long as you do not need 30 amp electric.

Nice spot to camp. A little noise from the road but the amenities (shower, bathroom, outdoor eating area) more than make up for it. Downtown DeLand is also quite charming with a great art museum.

John's place is fabulous. It was so peaceful and accommodating for us and our dogs. The goats were just fun as could be. And getting to tour the nursery was the most amazing experience. You won't be disappointed if you decide to stay here. The shower I could live there legit. It's that amazing!

Kale Campsite

Camping site on a private farm, situated just behind the greenhouse. Great tree cover for shade. 120V plug available. Host John was great. Gave us a tour of the campsite and property. Outdoor shower and bathroom were private and very clean. Outdoor covered kitchen with gas grill and seating. No other campers while we stayed, so privacy was no problem. If other sites are populated, no privacy as Kale and Carrot sites are right next to each other with no vegetation to provide privacy. 10min drive to Blue Spring State Park.

Great Experience

My spouse and I loved camping at Common Ground Farm. We spent a total of one week on the farm. John and Pat are amazing host , I had a lot of gardening questions and they shared their knowledge , so did Christopher one of the gardeners , he knows EVERYTHING about Soil 😊We enjoyed getting to know the other gardeners coming in to farm the vegetables as well and couldn’t wait to attend their farmers market on Friday. You will love May and Millie their friendly pups , as well as the neighbours goats that sometime come to the fence for snacks. Everything is close by in a very vibrant downtown. We ‘ll be back !
