Beautiful, private spot that was easy to get to in a nice rural area.

This is a solid spot in an area with a shortage of spots. Grateful German is offering it. It’s flat and easily accessible (albeit a little tricky to find) to Westport where we were seeing a show at Levitt Pavillion. 15 min away. Couple quirks were that we were not allowed to use a camp stove to make coffee, the bathroom in the house is actively in service and the pool was listed as usable but was not open. 70 bucks for a camp spot? Okay I guess. We were grateful for anything and it was just one night. Be a strange spot for a longer stay maybe.

I can’t give an actual review of Germans place. We never made it there due to there being something wrong with the directions from the Hipcamp site. My wife and I booked a campsite with German for us to stay at while attending a music festival. I received an email on 9/26 that only had a Google Maps button to click on for directions. Since I only had Apple Maps, I went back to the Hipcamp site since there was an Apple Maps button to click on there. Those directions ended up bringing my wife and I to a location that ended up being no where near the actual location. Since it was late at night, there was no response from German to clear up the issue and find his place. We fortunately met a nice couple who let us camp in their yard. Disaster averted and we got a cool story. My wife and I camp quite a bit and have used the Hipcamp site several times. Not sure what happened with the directions, but definitely something that German and Hipcamp need to fix. I did download Google Maps in the morning to see if that would work. Clicking on it from the Hipcamp site brought us to the same wrong location, however, clicking on the Google Maps button from the email would have brought us to the correct location. The little bit I did communicate with German, he was very friendly and accommodating to what our needs were. Looked like a really nice spot online. Wish we could have seen it in person.
