Norris and Roberta is a Star Host
Star Hosts are highly rated, responsive, and committed to providing incredible experiences.
Five minutes from the beach, Elkhorn Ranch is home to goats, sheep, wild chickens followed by their baby chicks, and a couple of cows, dogs, and sheep. In addition to the animals there is a greenhouse and an acre of pumpkins, corn, and beans. A small fruit orchard borders the chicken coop. Anybody who enjoys small farm life and activity will find this place enchanting. Norris and Roberta are incredible hosts and inclusive to any guests that want to participate in farm life. Close to restaurants and the cute harbor town of Moss Landing, 30 minutes from Carmel and Santa Cruz, Elkhorn Ranch can be a place to relax or a gateway to explore Big Sur and all the amazing hidden gems of the Central California Coast.Pros - Lovely community. Great for kids. Lively when wanted, chill when wanted. Magical Oak forest. Open field for playing. Close to everything. Note - There is a large power station at Moss Landing, about five miles away. The high tension wires border the property. Some people think they are ugly. I think they are kind of cool. If you look down the line of sight, they lead to the power station and you can see all the lined radiating from the power station to serve power to the people of Monterey County.Check in and check out are flexible. However we ask that you are checked in by 7 pm as we are a working farm. Due to camping in the oak grove there are no camp fires at the campsites. However there is a fire pit with wood available in the common area to enjoy or cook on.

Camp with Goats!
We stayed for a night and got there a little before 7pm - Norris met us when we got there and gave us a little tour of the ranch. I got to hold a baby goat that was only a few days old if I remember correctly so that was super memorable for me! They have running water and a clean toilet. We also needed salt since we forgot about it for cooking dinner and Norris just gave some to us which was super helpful! I saw some reviews about the electric lines from the power station making noise but we hardly heard it, never bothered us. Overall a great stay!

Camp with Goats!
75$ a night you expect a bit more
If you are a light sleeper be warned. There is alot of animals that you hear when you sleep and I don't mean the goats they were honestly fine, we would hear something, don't know what siff our tent alot throughout the night. Now looking back it probably was one of their working dogs. But we would also hear other animals. Nevertheless still scared us. Despite the powerlines being beautiful they do make a good amount of noise if you are close to them. Lastly the bathroom is a homemade porta potty which is the best way i could describe it, which is fine but with the price of 75$ a night you do expect a bit more.
