Welcome to Dashwood Meadows! We are located in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island. This is a hobby farm with sheep, mini goats, donkey, dog and cat. We grow berries, plums, cherries, nuts and wildflowers. Child-friendly and family friendly environment. You can walk the labyrinth of forest trails nearby. There is a beach 9 km from the farm. Lakes, rivers, waterfalls, provincial parks, caves, golf courses, children's playgrounds and country markets, all within less than an hour's drive. In Qualicum Beach, you will find amazing sandy beaches, picture-perfect views, world-class biking and hiking trails, salt-tinged ocean air, and the small town charm of our communities. Seeing goats on a roof, exploring underground caves, strolling endless beaches at low tide, and walking among ancient old-growth forests are just some of the experiences you’ll be able to tell your friends about back home.

Camping experience.
A farm type experience, with a donkey, sheep and chickens and dog. No need for the alarm clock in morning. For the most part very peaceful and very nice host.

We had the most peaceful experience staying on Amanda and Pavel's property. We've already recommended it to several friends whom we know would love it just as much as we have! Our stay was 8 nights in total and, honestly, we could have stayed for a month. We felt safe and welcome and were close enough to all of our favourite swimming holes, and so much more! Thank you for having us!

Bummed my stay was so brief! Amanda is an outstanding host- meeting me at the entry and giving me a tour of her lovely farm and recommendations for my stay. The mini donkey and I became fast friends 🫶🏼 And the compost toilet is a camper’s dream (silly but seriously). Will absolutely be back!

Hobby farm experience.
We enjoyed our stay at Dashwood Farm. Amanda and Pavel are very kind & friendly people. The property was nice and it was great to have the animals around. For the price it was well worth it. The area that we were camped in was directly outside the owners home. It didn’t allow for much privacy, and there was a bright daylight bulb left on overnight, which beamed directly into our tent. We solved this issue by putting a tarp over the tent. One other thing that could improve the experience for guests would be for the hosts to relocate the location of the shared composting toilet shed. It is located within one of the smaller camping areas. This means that campers from the other areas have to access the gated camping space (which is small) to go to the toilet. You are literally walking into other peoples space and past people eating their meal, sitting in their camp chairs, or when they are in their underwear. There’s no privacy for them. You access this area from a forest walkway, so they don’t really get much notice of you approaching. We were friendly as we entered, but it was clearly awkward for everyone. Spiro the dog is a lovely boy! We would recommend this place to others looking for a less private, but still peaceful camping experience.
