Kootenay Born Campsite is on ten acres of fenced in property, with spectacular mountain views. We are located on the west side of the Arrow Lakes and are accessed by a free shuttle ferry service. A short stroll from our property is Arrow lake and we are surrounded by hiking, biking and ATV trails waiting to be explored. A few miles down the road is Saddle mountain hiking trail, a challenging hike with breathtaking views all the way up. At the top of Saddle Mountain is a look out building with 360 panoramic views that is free to use and has been recently updated. A short walk from the camp site, through old growth cedar groves and orchard will lead you to Arrow Lake where you can enjoy all types of water activities or take a walk to explore many of the areas private beaches. #6 Shady Rock Campsite
Melissa and John were super welcoming and really nice to talk to, special mention to The Boss who we enjoyed playing with. As the camp was empty we stayed in site #2 instead, it was more in the sunshine. The view was incredible. We were surprised by a shower unit which was fab, toilets were also great. Kitchen tent was super helpful and some lawn games offered some entertainment. Would highly recommend.

Postcard picture camping
John and Michelle's land was amazing to camp on and they were amazing hosts, helping us out a lot when the weekend we went decided to be rainy. The bathrooms and the kitchen tent were impeccable and the surrounding nature was gorgeous! You can hear so many birds from your tent and there are nearby trails to explore. (Also their dog Boss was the sweetest playmate with our dog!)

Site was excellent tucked into the trees. Kids had a blast on the beach and playing games.

A Tale Worth Telling
What a great camping experience! I had a very peaceful time and really enjoyed the sound of the frogs at night. During the day i I went hiking and had a great time exploring the area. Thanks for the map of the trails, it really made things easier! The view of the mountains, from my campsite, were breath taking and made my travel worth while. I can't wait to stay with John and Michelle again! P.s the handmade picnic tables in each site are gorgeous!

#2 Little Rock Campsite
Wonderful Camping Experience
My wife and I bike packed to Kootenay Born campsite. The property and the location are absolutely beautiful. John And Michelle were wonderful hosts. They knew that we may be coming in after dark so they were very thoughtful in checking in with us and even met us at the gate when we arrived to make sure we got setup okay in the dark. The amenities are simple (outhouse toilets, no showers) but the attention to detail and thoughtfulness to the experience is definitely felt and makes the campsite feel like home the moment you arrive. They've even set up a really cool outdoor kitchen which makes preparing food and cleaning dishes so much easier. We definitely recommend staying at Kootenay Born camp grounds, the experience was wonderful and we can't wait to come back!
