Big sky campground is located on the banks of the Granby River on the edge of a hayfield on an active hay producing farm.
Relax at the edge of the field and camp along the Granby River where you can swim, or fish in the various pools or main stream of the peaceful river. Enjoy all the area has to offer such as dirt biking, quadding or cycling on the rail trail, riding through tunnels or even looking for old gold mines along the way! If bird watching is your thing then enjoy seeing many different types of birds along the riverbanks and in the grassy meadows.
The town of Grand Forks is less than a 15 min drive away and has all the amenities you need, including an amazing farmers market, many coffee shops and stores, and the historic Gem theatre. Christina Lake is also just a 30 min drive, with a beautiful, calm lake and delicious ice cream.
Also, for folks who are interested, we offer hay farm tours- available upon request đ
We loved camping by the small river. We went there pretty late and left early in the morning so couldnât get a chance to meet our host. There was absolutely nothing anywhere near our camping site. It was really quite at night. We had the whole place to ourselves. It was a bit chilly as temperatures dropped below zero. But the morning views were amazing. I could wish for a more even surface for the tent. It wasnât too bad though. It was flat but the growth of the grass was a little uneven which created little bumps here and there( we use a really thin sleeping pad to feel really close to the ground while sleeping). Overall we had awesome experience.
Daniellaâs place is fantastic. Beautiful spot by the river - large open field with 5 well spaced sites for vehicle camping. Very private - I had the place to myself for just an overnight stay so it was very quiet and serine. Highly recommend for either an extended stay or if youâre on a road trip and just looking for a peaceful overnighter.
This is a very nice campsite situated on a creek with great mountain views and lots of space between the sites. It is also far from the ownerâs residence so you no not feel like you are intruding. Daniella was a very helpful and friendly host as well.
Very clean, beautiful setting alongside the river. Less polished than a traditional campground, but we enjoyed our stay and look forward to another visit.
Danielle very hospitable.
We loved camping here! Beautiful location, great hosts, would 100% recommend. River access is great and nice to swim in. Our pup loved it, we hope to be back again in the future.
