If planning isn’t your thing, try just showing up early to snag one of the first-come, first-served, primitive campsites at Pike Campground. Once you self-register and pay the small fee, you are free to relax 'til your heart's content. If you want, you can fish for your dinner at the Pakota River, and you can get your grill on, too. Water is seasonal so consider bringing your own, and stock up on some yummy camping treats while you’re at it. Why? Because you are worth it.
