Learn more about this land: Wooded or cleared sites can be off the road access as well for parking. Naturel spring close for water, all amenities just minutes away. Self sufficiency, bushcraft and wildlife or just park, rest, and recover in the woods. Lots of fishing in the area. But we always have projects on the go.  I believe it is important to be in touch with nature and know how to survive within your surroundings. We will be doing homestead fundamentals, basic knowledge of bushcraft. Fire awareness, survival skills for practicality, etc.  This can be as many days as you would like it to be. We enjoy helping those get in touch with their surroundings and becoming connected to the land. My wife is an avid crocheter. And a bit of a hippy. She enjoys practice in herbalism. Natural remedies. And would love to share with like-minded. Partake in daily workshops being offered.Bushcraft, homestead development from raw land. Tenting spots available for any size group. A little about the general area for camping and vacation is as follows: Located at Galloway, in the Parish of Richibucto, in the County of Kent and Province of New Brunswick

The best camping near Jacques Cartier Provincial Park guide

Overview

About

Prince Edward Island bills itself as The Gentle Island, and staying on its Northern shore at Jacques Cartier Provincial Park is definitely going to be serene. Go camping with ocean views, supervised swimming beach, and long walks on the beach spotting birds and other wildlife. Great for families with organized activities on offer throughout the summer, you’ll find playground equipment and plenty of space for kids to run around. There are some sweet hiking trails in the area and gems of family restaurants to check out. Two Jacques Cartier campground areas are available—one serviced with newer, nicer facilities, and another unserviced with a laundromat, kitchen shelter, and camp store.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. Probably the busiest provincial park in PEI, reservations go fast as soon as the online bookings system for the province’s parks opens.
  2. Many campers book the entire season, taking the prime spots, so if you’re planning to camp at Jacques Cartier Provincial Park, book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
  3. There’s always a chance to secure a last-minute site by showing up at 2pm when campers check in, especially if you are looking to stay midweek or on the tailends of the park season.

When to go

Summers on Prince Edward Island are incredible—which is why many Canadians from as far as Ontario own cottages here. Jacques Cartier Provincial Park is only open from June 4 through September 12, and you’re pretty much guaranteed great weather during that period. As with any accommodations on Prince Edward Island, you’re advised to book campsites through the PEI Parks website in advance of your trip, especially if travelling with an RV.

Know before you go

  • The few sites offering fill hook-ups are usually filled by seasonal campers so hard to book for shorter stays.
  • As well as accessible washrooms, this park offers a ramp and floating wheelchair for visitors to use (not available when the surf is too high).
  • Cell reception can be patchy at the northern tip of PEI, so don’t rely on that to find your way around.
  • PEI has the warmest waters north of the Carolinas, so you can enjoy the ocean for much longer in the summer and fall than in other destinations.
