Bella Coola Riverside Camp

Enjoy a tranquil getaway along the Bella Coola River's north shore on the sunny side of the Bella Coola valley, in the desirable neighbourhood known as 'Sunny Saloompt.' Nestled amongst old growth trees, this camp is atop a high bench overlooking the Bella Coola River, with a small side channel running alongside it. The clearing boasts panoramic mountain views, overlooking a field that is oftentimes home to horses, and it is an ideal starting point for all adventures - fishing, hiking, biking, wildlife viewing, ocean and river excursions. Despite its immersion into nature, it is only a 10-minute drive to the Bella Coola airport, a 5-minute drive to the nearest store and gas station in Hagensborg, and a 2-minute drive (or an easy walk) to Saloompt Forest Trail, an interpretive trail with massive firs, cedars and spruce, and the Saloompt River, where salmon abound. How to get here: Saloompt Road is 23.5 miles (37.8 km) west of Stupendous Viewpoint” and 2.0 miles (3.2 km) west of Nusatsum River Bridge. From the beginning of Saloompt Road, it is 0.8 miles (1.3 km) to the middle of the Hagensborg bridge (that crosses the Bella Coola River), and from there it is 0.6 miles (1.0 km) to the property entrance on your left, just after the neighbour’s standing basketball hoop at 2464 Saloompt Road, and immediately after the Hipcamp sign in the trees. (Note: campfire ban just came into effect.)
