Escape to the Forest Hideaway, a charming off-grid tiny house with tiny wood stove, perfect for adventure! No need to disconnect - we’ve got WIFI! Make sure to enjoy the deck and nearby gazebo! Inside, you'll find your queen bed in the loft at the top of a ladder. The tiny house is surrounded by trees, and the interior has a platform couch and bench for seating, tiny wood stove, tiny kitchen, "shower" area for sponge bathing, and a composting toilet. (There is no running water or electricity). We are stocked with all bedding, towels, dishware, tea, coffee, and a French press! You'll find a BBQ and camp stove for cooking on the deck - there's no fridge, but a cooler with ice packs will be provided. Battery packs are here for charging cell phones and laptops (with USB-C and USB). The tiny home comes complete with rechargeable lamps, battery powered lights, potable drinking and washing water, and WIFI! Consider this the most indoor camping experience you can have and still be out in the woods!
You'll want to be comfortable with making a fire and keeping warm in the winter months! The tiny stove will keep you warm on the coldest winter days, but you have to keep it going. :) In the winter months, we'll get the stove started to warm everything before you arrive (and provide you with kindling and wood). When cleaning out the ashes in the stove (if necessary,) please use the metal pail outside and place the ash-filled pail back on the concrete blocks. Please note that there is no other heat source.
Check out Mill Pond Conservation Area for great hiking about 15 minutes away! Maybe Rock Dunder Nature Reserve for hiking and AMAZING views? (30 minutes).
Check out Rideau Ferry Beach (Yacht Club Conservation Area) for public swimming on Rideau Lake nearby the tiny house!

A creek runs through our unspoiled paradise, and you can cross the private bridge to explore the creek banks. Pets are welcome. The Rideau River flows just south of our property, providing outdoor activities and waterfront attractions.

Camping on Paul's property for the night was breathtaking. Being able to camp in a quiet, secluded area backing onto a beautiful creek was exactly what I needed.
Paul was super friendly and welcoming. He showed us where the site was and even offered the cabin for us to sleep in. Plenty of wood was provided.
I highly recommend this place - it's perfect!
I'm definitely going back again.

This was our fourth time at Don’s very private campsite and we had an awesome time. Beautiful sunsets and great canoeing plus Don’s extra touches like firewood (for purchase), lots of potable water, and a clean outhouse. This is our favourite spot and it did not disappoint!

This was our third time here this season and we love it so much we booked another trip next month! Sitting by the river with our coffee and a book has become our new favourite way to unwind after a busy week. Our kids love being able to swim and paddle board right off the site, and they are still in direct sight line!
Plenty of space to set up multiple tents, and the dining shelter came in handy on a wet morning. Tons of shade but some sunny spots, too, ideal mix of spaces.
There is a bit of poison ivy around the edges of the site so take a peek around to make sure you know where it is.
This has quickly become our favourite family get away and we will be coming back again and again!

Our second time here and it definitely didn't disappoint. Don's place is amazing. The river was just the right temperature, the wild life was everywhere, caught lots of fish, lost a lot of fish but that's fishing. Lol. This is one of our favorite spots to come. Absolutely privacy. We will be back next year for sure. Thanks Don for another unforgettable camping trip.

The dogs and I had a wonderful stay at the private site on the water!
The signs into site were very easy to follow with lots of space to park and turn my large suv around.
The outhouse is close to camp but also offers privacy.
The site has a few places where tents can be pitched. Theres two ropes for clothes lines as well as a covered picnic table.
In the dining area there is also a homemade cabinet with locks.
The water has a small current but was very enjoyable to swim in and not cold this time of year.
There is multiple size grills to cook over the fire and three muskoka chairs a small table and additional plastic chair.
There is a small loop that you can walk to do something on the property. It is secluded to your site as the other ones aren't on the loop path.
We look forward to booking again! Don was very easy to connect with and ask any questions with fast replies.

Lovely private tent spot by the Tay river.
Don created a little piece of paradise for folks to unwind, paddle, fish, watch Blue Herons, turtles, beavers, waterfowl, birds, fire flies… you name it. Had two great days at the Stewart Park Festival (5 min drive to downtown Perth) and breathtaking morning paddles on the Tay.
Bring mosquito repellent.

We can stop searching: we have found our favourite spot! 100% private, a perfect site with sun, shade, and direct water access. There is no one around and the only sounds are traffic in the distance and the odd train. The loudest part was the frog choir! Don was a fabulous host, easy to reach and very accommodating. Having a big jug of water and chairs there already (3 muskoka style chairs) were a plus. We have already booked two more stays for the summer!

15 ft pop-up camper
We loved visiting Don’s place. We had last minute issues with our trailer and had to leave it home. Don offered to rent us his rustic cabin right on the River instead of our campsite. Great river for kayaking, though we would have liked to have paddled further than the river allowed in either direction. Don makes fresh water available, his outhouses are clean and his firewood burns well. Despite the unseasonably cold weather, we had a great weekend. If you’re looking for the off grid cabin, it’s under Tiny Homes in Perth Canada on AirBnB.

We recently spent a wonderful day at this private campsite by the river, and it was absolutely fantastic! My son and I enjoyed fishing and hiking, soaking in the beauty of nature.
