The property includes 500 feet of waterfront and is about 2 acres in total. There is plenty of room for parking. The driveway is steep and curved and just requires being cautious. If you prefer power boats and seadoos these can be rented at a nearby marina. This simple, clean, dry, and neat bunkie is comfortable and has a history of providing fantastic sleeping conditions with guests saying they had their best sleep in it. There are windows at the front and back providing a cross-breeze, assisted by a fan. The bunkie has electricity and lighting and can be used as a workspace. This location is ideal for paddlers, swimmers, hikers, artists, writers, and those interested in the additional comforts of a cabin rather than tent camping. Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022. I have 97 acres of very private camping. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life. The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood. Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest. My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things. The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights. Tap water is drinkable, however may taste different to those accustomed to town or city water. The kitchen opens up to an open living space featuring a spacious sofa and a large screen Smart TV and high-speed Starlink internet. Enjoy a restful sleep, with each bedroom featuring a queen bed and dresser. The modern 3-piece bathroom is both comfortable and highly functional, complete with stand-up shower, vanity, towels, and basic toiletries. Two outdoor screened tent areas are available seasonally, one adjacent to the cabin and one located river-side. Guests have access to floating dock on the Black River, canoe and stand-up paddle board to use at guests' own risk. Water level fluctuates and no diving is allowed at any time. Just outside of Orillia. Close to area beaches, trails, Hardwood Hills, Ski Hills, Casino Rama and Burl’s Creek, all amenities but the luxury of a rural setting. Currently we have The Poor House and The Glade to offer. We also are happy to accommodate special requests like pitching a tent or a small travel trailer at one of the sites if you wish. We loved our little retreat! The cabin was cozy and had everything you needed. Really appreciated the fridge. Upon arrival, they were so kind and showed us around. The bed was actually so comfortable (we did not want to get up). Our dog loved it! Cute little paths to explore.

1 night at Rugby House Retreat

I actually stayed at “The Glades” cabin that they also have hosted, and we are SO glad we came! From the moment we got there we were greeted by the friendly hosts and shown to the cabin, which was completely stocked with cutlery, cooking utensils, and more. There was plenty room to walk around inside, and the view to the pond was beautiful. The entire property is very beautiful, and if you walk along the paths you will find a cute little cabin village they have created in the forests. It’s very magical. Firewood was provided and after we ran out we had no problem finding lots more wood to keep it running. If your looking for a fun little Camping escape this is definitely somewhere you should stay, either the Poor House, or the Glades you will very much enjoy the scenery. Well worth the visit and would recommend to anyone. Thank you so much for being such lovely hosts

Very well kept grounds. Peaceful setting. The outhouse was very nicely kept. And the firewood supplied was perfectly dry. I enjoyed observing the horses too. Plenty of room to book w friends & family next time.
