Follow the dancing squirrels and singing birds to find this Tiny House in the Big Woods... a land where crickets sing as the sun goes down and chipmunks dance in the light of the moon. Where the summer night wind whispers gently through the trees and the stars glisten in the scented night skies. Next to the Tiny house is a meadow brimming with life; sweet apple blossoms, wild flowers, and honey bees to delight the senses.

Quietly nestled  near a spring fed pond brimming with fish, turtles, and frogs; this Tiny House is a welcome  retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. With close proximity to Toronto, this is off-grid unplugged-relaxation at it's finest. The space is functional, very rustic, and a bit of a work in progress. There is a wood stove to keep the space somewhat warm in the cooler months, a 2 burner propane cook top stove and kitchen essentials.  There's a BBQ and grill over the Fire Pit for your cooking needs.  It is a 5-7 minute walk from the parking spot to get to the cabin. 

ABOUT THE SPACE:

- camping essentials are provided

- BBQ with propane

- 5 gallons of drinking water will be provided

- no running water/showers

- your own private fire pit with grill

- firewood is available

- urine-diverting composting toilet

- Coyotes live around here 

- Our family lives on the property, so there may be sounds of children playing

  Nearby attractions include hiking and swimming at Rockwood Conservation area, Bellwood Lake, hiking along the Bruce Trail in Limehouse, mountain biking at Kelso Conservation area just 20 min drive away. Lovely walks and strolls at Scotsdale Farm.  Visit the quaint hamlet of Eden Mills. The possibilities are endless.

Braemar Valley Nature Sanctuary

A nature enthusiasts private 18 acre backcountry-style getaway. Located in the beautiful Braemar Valley- 10 minutes from Woodstock, Ontario. Pine/oak/walnut stands, babbling brook, wildflower fields. 3+ km's of hiking trails through the forest, along the fields, across the creek and overlooking the valley. Cyclists can try out the km's of scenic gravel roads in the area.

The camp site is located in a creek-side wildflower field surrounded by silver maples, cottonwoods and pine stands and has a thunder box,  picnic table, and fire pit. Pets are welcome so long as they are controlled and cleaned up after.

If you want to check out a nearby restaurant, the Brick House Brew Pub in Woodstock is less than 10 minutes down the road!

Learn more about this land:Come Camp close to the river!The site includes a campfire pit in a very private area that has river access to the upper dam New Hamburg. Tents, vans, and RVs up to 32 feet are welcome. RVers can expect a back-in site that will require some leveling. A toilet is available. Pets are welcome. Campfires are permitted within local regulations.The site is a 10-minute walk to downtown and all shopping/restaurants.Enjoy fishing in the Nith River.We look forward to hosting you. 

Pootcorners Alpacas

Purchased in 1989, this small piece of heaven was developed by Peter & Suelaine Poot into a home for their family and beginning in 2004, a welcoming alpaca farm.  The bush area has been used for camping by many local and visiting scouting groups over the years.  In 2021, we joined Hip Camp and now allow others to enjoy the beauty, peace, and challenges of camping in our bush.The alpacas are a peaceful herd to watch as they graze their way through the day. Crias (baby alpacas), love to pronk and play in the pastures near their mothers. During May you may observe us shearing the alpacas.  June is the birthing and breeding month.  They birth quickly, so watch carefully. Tours of the farm with explanations of the fibre harvest process and opportunites to walk the alpacas are available to be booked through our website.

Pootcorner's is designed with space and options in mind for both RV camping and tent camping.

Suelaine is a master at her craft and maintaining her farm as well as managing the animals who she knows by name.

Back in the woods is where the tent camping is, it's quiet, private, and very open.

In all directions are different pastures of alpacas.

Another spot that's super kid friendly and there for the using, a sand box.

Pet friendly, this is a really nice location for dogs to get exercised as long as they're friendly with the other animals.

This structure can be used in winter seasons to setup tarp shelters.

This is one of the shared seating areas for socializing and having a fire, just outside the main house and near one of the alpaca pastures.

Glamping Tent in the Pine Forest

We’re situated on 25 acres of forested land with trails around the property. Our canvas bell tent is tucked away in the pine forest and has a double bed, pull out futon couch and lots of battery/solar powered lighting. Get back to nature and unwind in front of a fire, lounge in the hammock or watch an outdoor movie ✨ 🏕 🪺

Our tent features, a comfy, double bed with mattress cover and pillows. The kitchen is stocked with pots pans, dishes, cups, cutlery, and everything else you need might need to make a home-cooked meal.  Bring your stocked cooler, ice, linens and blankets, a flashlight and firewood, let us handle the rest!

We allow pets in our tent. Look under EXTRAS to add the the fee and let us know who's coming!
